For me it wasn’t so much the computer as the 26400 dialup connection. I just ran with images, scripts, animations, videos off. I could turn on images one by one to let them load if it seemed like an interesting subject.

For less than a year now I’ve been using a phone as a hotspot which is quite a bit better but not great.

Actually only like 2 and a half. As I mentioned in another thread, the first month it was the Australian fires, the Iran situation, Kobe's death, and the Coronavirus was a much smaller number so none of that effected us directly. It was mid-March when we saw the numbers jumping every day and started the lockdowns/social distancing.

Yeah, I was being too technical as always. I also think we will have to wait longer for the recovery and things going back to normal, if ever. After 9/11 I felt things were back to normal by 2004, or we were adjusted to the new normal. I wouldn't be surprised if we never recover this entire decade.

As soon as March started, everything started to get canceled or postponed in the big cancellation/postponement mania of March 2020-present, including the 2020 Olympics, which is now postponed to 2021. We had already lost some events such as E3 2020 and the 2020 March Madness.

It looks like a different decade almost. Everybody is publicly together in the photos. So many changes happened already the last couple of months.

I'm not superstitious, but it's so weird that people were living their lives freely just 3 months ago. While there is some normalcy around the world (like Sweden not having lockdowns of their public places due to less cases there), highly notable countries like the US, UK, Spain, and Italy still have most of their people quarantined in their homes.

Not even 2021's safe. Professor Kentaro Iwata of Kobe University in Japan said that the Olympics are not likely to be held next year because both Japan and the world needs to control the virus in order for the Olympics to even happen.

If that’s the case, I’d like the committee move the host city 4 years later, instead of just cancel Tokyo Olympics:

- Tokyo 2024
- Paris 2028
- LA 2032

If and when sporting events restart, unless events are cancelled it will a congested sporting calendar trying to catch on lost time.

I agree, and it'd be more consistent with the Olympics' 4-year gap. It sucks for the athletes who were preparing to participate, but it's for their own safety.

That's a really nice summary of March, especially with the inclusion of SGN (It was my favorite show to watch during the thick of the pandemic.  :P)

But two months later, the culture shifted from coming together while staying apart in quarantine during the COVID crisis to people protesting against racism and police brutality following George Floyd's murder along with rioting.

I still can't believe how so many major occurrences happened in a year's time, and I bet that the U.S. November election is definitely gonna be a historical catastrophe just waiting to happen.  :-[
