Either later this year or next year. Futurist predict a Social Media backlash sometime in the Early 20s or Mid 20s.

Futurist predict a Social Media backlash sometime in the Early 20s or Mid 20s.
I doubt that would happen. That would be going backwards. Like from cars to horse carriages.

I'd assume the 2021-22 school year. If a new president is elected in Nov, then they will be inaugurated in Jan 2021, and I think a lot of people will be happy Trump is out of office so that a new era can begin. 21-22 also gives some time for new artists to emerge and new sounds to break through mainstream and start defining the new decade.

I really hope it does. I'd like to see a unique identity for the 2020s.

Even if Trump gets reelected, which I predict he will, the culture will still change in his second term. Just like when GWB was reelected in 2005 the culture changed during his second term. Now the ones who insisted that the culture shifted in 2006 might say the shift occurs in 2022, but then again they might also see everything in a 15 year parallel instead of 16 year, so they'll say it occurs in 2021 after all.
