I consider Future's - Tony Montana to be the song that brought mumble rap to the mainstream. That was in 2012

Same thing with how ringtone rap started long before the mid-late 2000s (specifically in the early 2000s).

Not the same thing since you can clearly see in the video Snoop is talking about "all rappers today". He is saying the new style all sounds the same. In the early 2000s, not all rap was ringtone rap. So that's my point in that before 2014, mumble rap was already big.

I know not every rap song from the early 00s was ringtone rap.

Almost every musical trend starts underground then works its way to the top. Mumble rap's an example. It didn't dominate until 2017/2018, but it already existed on the charts as early as 2012 (example: Drake's The Motto)
