The vibe looks completely different compared to anything 2013/2014 onwards. I can see a lot of mcbling/emo era influence from the 2000s.

I don’t 2011 is old either, I just see clearly see the identity of that year more clearly now that some time has passed

I don't think you can consider a year where Streaming was almost non-existent, Blackberries were still popular, analogue TVs were still working and no cancel culture as modern. It does have some similarities to today but it's still quite dated.

Streaming was indeed around in 2011.. And those are such insignificant changes you mentioned. Analog TV working? Yeah so? Virtually no one used them in 2011... Analog died long before then.

The thing with the early '10s is they are dated in some ways but modern in other ways. You can definitely take things from the early '10s and see they are dated now from the perspective of 2021. But you can also take things from then that still seem modern or not dated at all. That's the weird thing about it.

For the early 2000s in the year 2011, almost everything was dated and there was not an ounce of modernity in it.

I'm only 22 so to me 10 years ago feels like an ETERNITY. Even objectively things are so different now than they were back then. One thing that's fascinating is that electronic music production reached its quality cap around this time, so pop songs from this year still sound squeaky clean and HD, and probably always will. It's just the style of the music that's so outdated
