I feel that the pandemic and the economic crisis arriving right in 2020 lessens the chances of a 2010s backlash. Pop culture and such will evolve of course and move away from the 2010s, but I feel the decade won't be viewed as badly as the 80s in 1992 or the 00s in 2012.

Had the pandemic arrived a year early, I could see it kick-starting a humongous 2010s backlash...but it arrived with the new decade, so I think it's taken away that "brand new decade sheen" psychological trick that helps fuel backlashes.

I think it'll mainly come from the conservatives who dislike how permissive society has become, and will only praise the four years in which Trump was in office for the decade.
Personally I like how the decade is more open to gender non-conformity but I hate how for the most part, we're still not gender non-conforming or even going backwards in some cases. I also hate how the music since 2013 sounds like it was forced to be on anti-depressants, thus sounding blander than 2000s music in my opinion (and on the rare cases that they aren't, that they tend to be only on streaming services and need those services just to be listened to).

I do not think there will be a 2010s backlash. The 2020s already started on a rough note and people will be too distracted by the craziness going on this decade to hate on the 2010s. If anything I think people will actually reminisce on the 2010s.

The '80s are an exception to this as it didn't see many horrible events and yet suffered terrible backlash in the '90s.

2019 will be seen as an innocent year and part of the "good old days" in the near future. It already is being seen that way by most people. Seems like people will want to go back to the 2010s with how terrible the 2020s are.

I feel that way, but even more so with 2018. 2019 did have a nice and innocent vibe, like with Mandelorian, Tom Hanks as Mister Rogers, and the Disney live action remakes.

I definitely see people making fun of how dated early 2010s memes and pop culture are (handlebar moustaches, rage comics, Buzzfeed quizzes, jeggings).

But these are mostly nostalgic rather than a backlash.

Nah, the teenage culture from then (super bright colours, skater/scene) seems to get positive reception from most young people today, especially now that graphic and baggy tees are making a comeback. I wear my high school clothes around the house and my 15 year old sister comments on how she likes my shirt lol.

I hope the technology of the early 10's get blasted, like the early Facebook and early version of iPhones (4 and below). Those were pretty bad with lots of bugs.
