Subject: Did men’s leg coverage in sportswear increase throughout the decade?

Anyone notice how the shorts-with-full-compression-tights look popped up some time in 2013 and grew in abundance as the decade progressed?
Not only that, but even the length of soccer socks seems to have increased. Players wearing them over the knee wasn’t a rare thing to see in the early 2010s, and toward the end of the decade, we’ve even seen a number of them wearing them all the way up to their thighs.
In the 2000s, people probably would have called it “ghey!11!!” but in the 2010s and up until now, it became a trend. Is this a reflection of a societal shift (or is it just sociological over-analysis)?

Also “gay” trends like this in soccer. The 2020’s could bring those bras to the mainstream public
