Subject: Which year was worse, 2014 or 2016?

So which year would you say as worse as far as news events, pop culture, and personal life? Honestly for me it was 2014. I remember waking up literally just about every day knowing my day was going to be miserable, mainly due to work related stress. I lost a lot of weight that year due to stress and anxiety. 2016 was better except for when I had deaths in the family in the fall.
Events wise, 2016 had a lot of chaos like 2020 but not as bad. It just seems like election years have been very climactic with events and tensions. 2014 didn't have any tragic events except for the Ferguson incident, which started the BLM movement.
Pop culture wise they were about the same. Both had a lot of good music but not many good movies.

Undeniably 2016. Not only was it one of the worst years of my life, but it was also a terrible year for events. 2014 was just boring.

2016, the height of everything wrong with the 2010s: school shootings, mass shootings, police shootings, protest shootings, ISIS terrorists, far left vs far right politics, white supremacist groups clash with BLM, having to choose between a douche and turd sandwich for president, Halsey, etc etc

News events would be worse in 2016. The reasons are the increase in political polarization, ISIS, and mass shootings that were being present that year.
I didn't like both music of 2014 and 2016 that much, but I could tolerate a bit more music coming from 2014 than 2016 (reason being is that I enjoyed songs like "Boom Clap" and " Habits (Stay High)")
Personal life was ABSOLUTELY worse in 2014 when my mom died.

They both suck, for different reasons. 2014 was the worst year of my life personally (although 2020 is doing good at catching up to so far), and the culture wasn't all that great either.
2016 was on the other hand a very tragic year for world events, and pop culture was so bad that year I still have PTSD of it.
I guess I picked 2016 as the worst year since I rather suffer in silence than see the whole world seemingly falling apart.

I like some of Halsey's songs but her "woke" persona and attitude feels forced.

Well to me niether was better i can honestly say now that the 2010s are over they werent that great.I litterally just realized i only liked two years out the entire decade thats 2011 and 2012 all the other years were just dull for pop culture for me.

I feel the same way (but I also liked 2010), but sadly I'd take any year of the 2010's over 2020.
