I miss those days when those sort of hairstyles were aspirational on girls or even guys at times for that matter. The music too.

Hairstyles for teenagers, especially girls, were a lot longer than I thought. Facebook and texting were also popular, I think.

Now we have zoomers and IDK how to feel about their culture. One of the few plusses I can get from it is that it's far less clique-y compared to basically everything up until the mid-2010s but otherwise I'm not much of a fan.

That's true. Everyone in my senior class who would be pigeonholed into cliques are pretty much chill with each other.

Partly yes. But to me it's within the music, fashion and aesthetic because it was what appeared to me to be non-conforming at the time. The 70s and 80s looked more non-conforming in those regards but I didn't even exist then and I only existed late in the 90s as a baby.
