Subject: When did the switch from http to https occur?

When did websites switch from http:// to https:// domains?
I have a file with time-wasting domains for my web filter Leechblock from June 2013 and they're all http://
Anyone remember when the switch happened?

I think most sites only took up HTTPS because browsers started warning about it. I'm not sure when that happened, maybe 2015 or 2016 IIRC. inthe00s still uses HTTP.

I think its utterly stupid.......... Reg message boards DO NOT NEED SSL!!!!!
It makes it harder for those on older browsers (Im on IE6 (MyIE2)) to get to a site directly and there is NO REASON FOR IT bottom line!!!!!
Thankfully some sites do not block HTTP . You can goto either http or https on thier site...
cellar.org (VBB) is one .. hipforums.com/forum (Xenforo) is another
