The 2010s are one of the worst decades in human history.

This decade was nothing but pure nasty garbage.

It lack any good Tv shows.

It lack any good movies.

It also didn't have any good music at all.

The Commercials were not good at all.

Our world has fell apart a lot in this decade then the last decades before it and brought us two of the worst presidents in modern history namely Obama and Trump.


The 2010s will not ever be remember as being a good decade.

The 2020s might bring us worser garbage then the 2010s brought us.

We just have to wait and see what the next decade the 2020s bring us.

Yeah I think the 2020s will either suck more than the 2010s (which is hard to imagine how that would be possible) or suck the same or maybe slightly less but I don't think we're gonna go back to the days when decades were actually good... It will probably suck so best to just live your life in a good way and don't have hope in pop culture.

If I'm wrong great. I just highly doubt things will get better. Things changed and the good old days are long gone now. Now we live in a world of constant paranoia, political division, and constant threat of terrorism and violence, technological zombies, terrible movies, terrible TV, terrible video games, and horrible music that sounds worse than than two cheetah's screetching.

Don't think technology will change much next decade either. A few little updates here and there with the current tech we have now is all that will happen. Nothing will be better really. I don't think we'll have self-driving cars until the '40s honestly if they even take off then. The tech is there, but if society doesn't want it and if people are not putting them out at reasonable prices and creating initiatives to get new tech going, then any new tech innovations is useless for the public and will not come out.

I noticed this decade lacked good original comedies. Ted is one of the only ones that was 90's Adam Sandler/Chris Farley level funny. The box office seemed to be overloaded with Marvel movies.

Also there lack of innovation in video games other than the Nintendo Switch. Also the music for the most part was garbage.

I don't think the 2020s will suck. But if it does suck, I'm sure social media will be to blame.

I disagree with the OP anyway. This decade was the best for TV shows, it's not even close. The music was good; thanks to Spotify its easy to find good music. There were too many sequels/reboots but still a lot of instant classic movies. I bet people will look back on the MCU the same way we look back on the Disney renaissance. The 2000s president was way worse too, Obama was a massive improvement.

No it is not... There are many people who hated this decade besides me and for good reason. Search on YouTube "2010s sucked" and you will find tons of videos. There are some good ones from FutureKing on there too.

Dude, what shift are you talking about? Yeah, 2006 had a transitional vibe to it and paved the way for late 2000s trend, but it was almost the same as 2005. The 2008-2009 season can be considered a shift because there were changes that impacted the world immensely.

Obama  massive improvement was during the first year when he became president, after a while things did gotten worst under Obama  and he made way to many mistakes like the Iran deal, Syria conflicts, ISIS up rising, creating  the DACA crap and that divided the US more and more. Obama year's won't be remember in a good light and he will go down as one of the worst presidents of our life time.

2000s were not a great time for a lot of people, but it still had good old classic and new tv shows, old classic VHS taps were still around, DVD's were still new and people  just starting to used them, CD players were still used, commercials were actually good because they had some of the original feel to them from the 90s. These days only a few tv shows are okay but not that many, there isn't really that many good movies or even  tv commecials worth watching  anymore, music is not all that good either.

I feel the 2020s will be even more worst then this garbage of a decade the 2010s.

Things did suck start to after 2006 though (mostly 2007). The economy dipped and tv started to as well, with all those writers going on strike. I didn't like a lot of the changes that came about in late 2008 and 2009 either, but there was still a significant amount of things that I did like and an improvement from the previous year. I remember 2007 being the worst year of the 2000s and overall the most bland.

There was a shift in the year 2006. I think there is a thread on this website about it. A lot of new changes came in and things started to look more modern.

2005 was still the 90's, and 2006 was when the future began, lol

All joking aside I wasn't a big fan of 2006. It was a pop-culturally bland year, similar to 2019 in that regard. 2005 was a lot better as it had better music, movies, videos games, etc. I also didn't care for 2007 until the later part, and 2008 was a lot better, the best part of the late 00's and one of best of the entire decade.

I do enjoy my life. But I do not enjoy the horrible pop culture of the decade and I complain about that. I understand you may like it because you grew up in the 2010s, just as I like the 2000s because I grew up then. But for me I think the 2010s were the decade from hell.

Well, the first half generally didn't except for a few tragedies as well as specific music. OTT, the period was still mostly optimistic. I appreciated how the movie industry wasn't all superhero films. There was a wide variety that I don't see much today. The second half, though definitely took a nosedive, especially with politics and the constant attacks on nearly every minority group and people's freedom. Say one thing that's against the public, and your life is immediately over. It felt like everything is one-sided. I also hate how the copyrights have gotten so bad that nearly everything is getting deleted in some way. There's barely any MP3 sites anymore. Youtube videos are continually being taken down. Even websites where people can find TV shows with full episodes are shutting down. Is it like WTF?

As for the upcoming decade, I hope there's a mass improvement, not just in pop culture but also in general too. It will be awesome if everything can be inspiring again. It's time for a new start. I believe that next year will be the super transformative year I have been predicting for the last few years.

I don't think the decade is boring. In fact, I still enjoyed the first half of the decade except for some minor aspects. I have amazing times from this period that I will look back on with friends, family, and peers; however, that's not to say there wasn't anything awful either.

You are right about one thing, people do need to enjoy life more. But i don't see that happening since everyone is always looking down at their smartphones and it will only get worst.

For myself the early 00's were kind of dark and depressing, especially after 9/11, but still much better than now. 1999 and 2000 were great years in my life. 2001 was a downhill year even before 9/11.

2004 was like a return to normalcy, or just a new normal that we have become used to the post-9/11 world and the Iraq War. 2005 was really good as well.

As mentioned 2006 and 2007 were not so great, mainly because of the work situation and pop culture.

2008 was a great year, I'd say the best year since 2000. 2009 was pretty good, though not as good as 2008. 2010 wasn't bad either, and 2011 and 2012 were for the most part pretty good.

2013 was when things went down hill, and and continued into 2014. 2015 was an improvement and even 2016, but overall the mid 10's were a dark time.

2017 until now have been fairly quiet, an improvement compared to the the mid part of the decade.

I 100% agree with this. I spent the decade going to big raves and festivals, tons of amazing concerts, sending funny memes to my friends, driving for lyft, hosting an airbnb, meeting so many great people and honestly having the time of my life. The 2010s were an incredibly colorful and joyous decade in my eyes, with great fashion and fun music. How could a decade that gave us Call Me Maybe and Gangnam Style be considered dark? I felt the majority of the decade was fairly optimistic, and although things got a little dark after Trump's inauguration, it was just a good opportunity to shine a light on some things we had been ignoring. He's certainly not the worst president we've ever had and these are not even close to the worst days in American history. Try living in the 1910s while Woodrow Wilson was locking people up for sedition. Try living in the early 70s and getting drafted to fight in the Vietnam War. Come on people, these are still good times. If you didn't enjoy them, you probably got too wrapped up in the news cycle and missed out on all the good things the decade had to offer. And that's a shame!

The 2000s were usually a very depressing and poor decade due to the terrible events that happen. But the 2010s makes the 2000s suck way less, todays culture is pure garbage and more depressing then the last decades before it.

I'm a mid-2000s child and I like this decade.

Just my 2 cents - I'm about to embark on decade #7 of my life.  Of the decades I've lived (1960's on) there hasn't been any "all good" nor "all bad" decades - at least on a macro level (i.e. ways that affect all of us).  Each decade I've lived had some good points and some bad points.  I'll say this about every decade I've experienced - each one has had surprises that were impossible to predict.  By the same token, each decade has also failed to live up to certain predictions or expectations.  Thus, I don't think the 2020's are going to be terrible - but I'm sure there will be ways many or some of us will be disappointed.  We just wait with anticipation and optimism.
