Subject: Peloton Kerfuffle
Written By: LyricBoy on 12/07/19 at 4:45 pm
I see there’s a major controversy about that recent Peloton ad where some guy buys his hot wife a Peloton exercise bike.
Apparently a bunch of busy bodies who have nothing better to do have gotten their pants all in a bunch over the ad.
Total silliness.

In the UK at least people were complaining about one of the Peloton ads that showed a woman exercising and looking after her young (~5 years) daughter at the same time. I just read the headlines and wasn't interested enough to read whether they thought the child should be with her father or that the mum should be concentrating on her child and not in getting fit

I think the actress who is in the ad is pretty hot, why would her husband want her any skinnier than she is now? ???

People assume he got it for her to lose weight. She’s obviously thin in the commercial. Seems to me she wanted to “get physically fit’. Just because one is skinny does not mean they’re in good shape.

I always liked that song they play in the background. It’s an old Tal Bachman tune from the early 2000s.
“She’s so hiiiiiigh, like Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, Hermaphrodite, oh yeaaaah”

Monica Ruiz is an actress, she is married in real life and has 2 children.

I think this is the "fat acceptance" or "body positivity" movement's work. They also recently were angry at the NHS (UK) for putting out ads that linked obesity to cancer.

I don't understand the commercial, why is she losing weight if she's already skinny and beautiful? ::)

Maybe she was skinny but not in good shape. Even skinny people need exercise for good health.
I would not mind being her personal trainer... :P

I concur. Who cares? He gave his sweetheart a gift. Big freakin' deal.
