Aside from pop culture, 2017 was such a good year for my life. I already have nostalgia believe it or not after just two years. So many good things were happening for me that year. Best year of the decade for my personal life. And earlier in the year at least, there are some musical staples I can look back on and enjoy to remember this great time in my life like Something Just Like This by The Chainsmokers and Coldplay, Shape of You by Ed Sheeran and Despacito. Did you like the year 2017?

Not that much. I was very nervous throughout that year due to the politics and social climate, as well as matters in my personal life.

I also feel like 2017 is a really memorable year of the decade too. It really stands out similar to 2013. It is also memorable for me because of events in my personal life, and also in Canada it was it was the country's 150th birthday so there were big celebrations all year.

2017 was ok. When I was in 7th grade, I got very frustrated in school because of the 1 to 4 grading system making studies alot harder. I used to rage in class, and people made fun of me, but I didnt know before. I still wasnt depressed until 2018, I was just that angry guy in school. When school ended however, and I got honor roll, it was peaceful and fun. I remember listening to songs like Despacito, I'm the one, Mi Gente, and other songs popular at the time, it was fun. No, I wasnt into mumble rap though. We then went to Edmonton and Banff around July/August, and that's when I had the most fun glancing at nature in Lake Minnewanka, and filming my first vlog with my iPhone 7. Fun times, that I'll never forget. When school started in late 2017, things were still fun meeting new friends, and things being easy at the start of the school year. However, by early 2018, things got depressing when I found out the truth.

This year had several life changing moments for me, of which I will not go into detail here.

It had some big changes in my life as well, especially the last 3 months of it.

Spent almost the entire summer in Los Angeles so it was definitely one of my favorite years ever :D.

I enjoyed my time in LA too, but my stay was a few years earlier.

2017 was the best year of my life too. The energy and the feeling in the air was different.
Pop culture was likeable that year. A good year indeed for the internet, music, and movies aswell as my personal life.

I remember "No Rules"  being popular in Fall of 2017. In the summer of '18 "Electricity"  was popular.

Another song I heard the other day that really had that 2017 sound was "Feel It Still" by Portugal. The Man.

I felt like we got out of the core 2010s in late 2017 because of the debuts of Cardi B, Dua Lipa, Khalid, and the accelerated growth of mumble rap thanks to freaking Lil Pump and other trashy rappers. Fortnite also rapidly grew in popularity around November/December. Other than that, 2017 was a fun year.

2017 is a blur to me. I remember the first half being depressing, but was ultimately a net positive time in my life. In contrast, the second half of the year was a lot more fun, but it was very unproductive and I see it as lost time.

First third was the worst fu***** stretch of my life ever. Not exaggurating at all. The rest was alright. I remember chilling on PS4, going to hospital checkups and watching arrowverse shows like the flash and arrow the rest of that year.

As for pop culture that was crappy as per usual. Didn't like the music and memes at the time. Fidget spinners was a fun fad at least and the switch just launched.

Clearly 2017 has very mixed opinions. Personally I loved most of it. Up to the start of the 2017-2018 school year. The majority of the year (Jan-Aug) was very bright & calm after the politically toxic 2016. Pop music was great but mumble rap/trap was quickly becoming prominent and at the time most of it was not that good. I remember being concerned that music was heading in a bad direction. The fidget spinner phase was probably one of the most fun phases ever tbh. Everyone messed around with them at school & they were such great meme material. That summer I got my Switch & became addicted to Mario Kart which was fun, I'm pretty nostalgic for those days. The Switch was new & exciting! To me the start of the 2017-2018 school year brought along the true departure from the core 2010's & started the darker, more cynical feeling late 2010's. In fact, thinking about it, the start to end of this year felt very different.
