Last week an app called Deep Nude was viral bc of its controversial purpose: Generates naked images of women, using deep fake technology. Now this app has been taken offline after a large amount of criticism.

What makes me wonder a lot, it’s the future of this tech. Considering VR and AR in the horizon, how deep nudes will affect in these new mediums. Maybe some real time applications on AR glasses, exactly like those x-ray goggles that see through clothes on old sci-fi movies.

After Deep Nude shuts down, the creator declared “the world is not yet ready for DeepNude”, maybe he’s right after all and the fate of our privacy in the next decades will be completely nude.

My co-worker said this was actually a good thing because now you can claim that all nudes on the Internet are fake, and I agreed with that. This might invariably end up being a net positive despite the creep factor. :P
