I always thought it was Party Rock Anthem that started the EDM trend, but it still had some electropop elements. :D Also, EDM slowly gets watered down as time passes by, if you compare ‘Happier’ to 2011 EDM.
But technically, if we talked about the original EDM disco song that made it trendy in the late 70s, it would be ‘I feel love’ by Donna Summer, but EDM is what disco was in the 70s, and dance-pop in the 80s anyway. :)
