I used to shop there during The late 90's, early 2000's. I think the problem was that they had good looking sneakers but bad material.

We have a local store that I might check out. I used to get shoes from there back in high school and now if I want cheap shoes I go to Marshall's/TJ Maxx.

Payless was pure sheesh.  They won't be missed.

I still have a pair of black loafers I had bought from Payless and that was many years ago.

They'll probably run a few clearance sales till they finally shut down for good.

I have NEVER found anything I liked at Payless so I never bought from them and after a while, I just stopped looking.

My sister is on a wheelchair and wears braces sometimes. Payless was one of the few places where we could find giant shoes that fit over those braces. It will always have a special place in my heart.  :\'(

That was the only place I got my shoes from about 30 years ago until about 10 years ago.  I still like the place, but there isn't much selection, and their prices aren't any lower than anywhere else anymore.
