2010s are one of the disgusting and most godawful decades in recent history since the 2000s. 2010s are not anything like the 1990s or even the early 2000s for that matter and people need to stop trying to treat the 2010s like they are the 1990s because they are not. I'd personally compare the 2010s to the 1930s.  There are a lot more parallels than most people realize.

I've literally never seen anyone crowning the 2010s as the new 90s before. Quite the opposite actually since the whole contrasting "the nineties vs. now" is such an internet thing it hurts.

Well, it shares some elements from the 90s. Fashion wise, it is somewhat similar with Grunge fashion with the checkered clothes, ripped jeans, and dark colors, and late 90s fashion with leggings and crop tops, as shown from the S Club 7 Music video. Technology wise, nothing alike, but the internet and the computers were passed down from the mid/late 90s. Music wise, it doesn’t sound 90s or 2000s, but Trap actually started around 1993/94, just wasn’t popular until 2013, and EDM technically existed with the forms House music and Trance, in fact, songs like One Kiss by Dua Lipa and We found love by Rihanna are house music. In TV, Shows like spongebob, south park, and the simpsons are still ongoing, with 80s-inspired shows like Stranger Things. Shows like Fresh prince of bel-air or Friends are pretty much over, but inspired a few 2010s shows like Big Bang Theory, and there were a few internet memes from a few scenes of those shows. If there’s more to name, or if there’s any suggestions you’d like to point out, just tell me about it

The 2010s are not that bad in my opinion at least, every decade has their own problems and issues, but the 2010s is definitely not the worst decade. People who say they’re born in the wrong generation would think that the 80s have 0 problems, that’s wrong. The Cold War, AIDS crisis, Chernobyl, etc. I’m not going to start another decadeology talk, just look at the 1930s and 1940s, they’re not perfect too, but I’m not going into too much detail because of the decadeology warning.

Huh? Where do you get that from? A lot of people relegate the beginning of Trap to T.I.'s "Trap Muzik" which came out in 2003.

Maybe the first start of 2010s are okay but the rest of it sucks real bad. the way of life sucks more then ever now, the rich getting more richer and the poor get's more poorer and poorer. Apartments are also way too over price and they are not worth the mount they is, the cost of living is insane and you won't be able to get a job that easy. Besides the 2010s sucked and i don't see how anyone can like this crappy decade.

Because TV sucks now and it has nothing but garbage on it, commercials are piece of trash and they are not good, TV shows are also garbage as well, the 2010s feel very disgusting and wet, this decade is full of crap and is not good at all, everything has change for the worst and i do think that the 2020s will be even more worser then the 2010s.

The 2010s were not 100% bad... Technology had a HUGE leap, with smartphones, home voice assistants, tablets, VR and AR, hoverboards, 4K TV’s, and more! You also have great shows like Stranger Things, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Big Bang Theory, and movies like the Force Awakens, Deadpool, Interstellar, etc. However, I somewhat agree with the music part. Mumble rap was so popular since late 2014, which not only ruined the hip hop influence, but music in general. Sure, there are lots of lyrics of Drugs/sex from 90s/2000s rap songs, but this decade is worse with that. And it is no innovation with slurred sounds. The trap beat is catchy though, with non-mumble trap artists like Drake. EDM is a huge rave scene helped to make people feel better, just like what Disco was in the 70s, and what Dance-pop was in the mid/late 80s. Politics wise, well, if you can handle Trump, I guess this is redundant, but if you can’t, politics was a huge disappointment for the 2010s. Video Games wise, you had lots of fun games like Fortnite, Minecraft, GTA 5, Overwatch, etc., which really defines the 2010s in gaming.

I’m not saying the 2010s are perfect, I’m just saying it’s not a bad decade, because if you say the 80s/90s have no problems, you are wrong. The 1930s Great Depression was darker than the 2010s, and the World War 2 era in the 1940s was also more dangerous than the 2010s, so yeah.

"Richer getting richer" is not a new concept and far from being unique to this decade. Cost of living is more of a country-to-country thing rather a decade thing as well.

As for the rest, bad commercials and bad tv (seriously? With all the highly acclaimed tv shows on Netflix?) all seem like bratty complains from spoiled kids.

Anyway, let's wait a few months until 2020, where the 2020s wil become the hip new thing to bash all your miseries in life on while the 2010s endearing nostalgia "old is gold" material ::)
