For me, it would either be 2016 or 2012. 2016 was such a fun year, and also known as the peak of 2010s culture, as you had good music, ranging from EDM to Trap music, and with pop, you had artists like Drake, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, etc., and EDM was so big, with the Chainsmokers, Calvin Harris, and Zedd. Games like GTA 5, Overwatch, and Roblox were popular, with PC Gaming overtaking console’s popularity. Trap music still sounded colorful and diverse, with Trap pop songs like Don’t let me down, Hotline Bling, and lots more. On the hip hop trap side, you had artists like Drake, Kevin Gates, and Schoolboy Q being popular. Movies like the force awakens, Deadpool, Zootopia, and Suicide Squad (It got bad reviews but it was still a fun movie to watch nonetheless), were popular.

Anyway, enough with the talk, what was your favourite 2010s year?

2015

That was the year I met Lee, and everything started going well for me. That Summer was so fun! I spent lots of time with my mom. Then in the Fall I met Lee. I still remember our first date!  :)

2018, 2012, 2010, 2014/5 (these two years blend together in my mind). Okay, I have too many favourite years ;D

So many times. Haha 2010-2011 was the highlight of my comfort zone but 2015-2016 and 2017 were just as, if not more quality for me. I'm starting to lean more towards the mid 2010s everyday.

The year I wish I appreciated more was 2013, but unfortunately that spring semester my junior year was a tough time for my personal life and the summer afterwards. I liked Fall 2013 tho. 2014 was underrated and underappreciated, I'd go back to that year in a heartbeat. I really liked the whole first half of the 2010's TBH. 2015 was okay but not my favorite. 2016 was asinine. 2017 was a lot of fun, my first full year at 21 had a lot of fun moments, including my favorite teams having great seasons and transferring to KSU. 2018 was a bit of a disappointment, a year I thought would be better but it was kinda meh, but I'd still take that year any day over 2016. I'm just ready for New Years Day 2020 at this point. I have feeling that 2020 is going to be the most exciting New Years since 2000.

Yeah. 2014 is also one of my favourites, when Vine was at its peak, with KingBach, Lele Pons, The Gabbie Show, Rudy Mancuso, The Paul Brothers, they were funnier back then, unlike today. Everyone went crazy over GTA 5 and Minecraft, while I was on the Roblox side as opposed to minecraft  ;D Movies like Divergent and Malificent were fun to watch, and there were a lot of good songs, when Hip Hop was influenced by DJ Mustard with Don’t Tell Em, Loyal, and you had rappers like Drake and Iggy Azalea. Pop music was dominated by Sam Smith, Ariana Grande, and Taylor Swift, and you had EDM artists like Calvin Harris and Zedd. The most 2014 songs for me were Don’t tell em, Am I wrong, and Bang Bang by Nicki Minaj. It was a fun year, yeah.

2015, and half of 2018, in my opinion, were dark & depressing for my personal life though... I was having trouble with stress and growing up in 2015, and I was just depressed in Early to Mid 2018. Pop culturally though, 2015 was mostly good, but 2018, it’s like 2013-17 but darker or less 2010s influenced.

I guess 2013 and 2017 were the two all-around fun and exciting years for me.

I enjoyed 2013 because it was the year after I turned 21 and I started clubbing a lot with new friends. I know I will always look back fondly on that year.

Even though 2017 was horrible politically, it was an exciting year for me because of all the traveling I did. I attended the Women's March in D.C. and completed a study abroad trip to Spain that summer which included side trips to London and Rome.

To me those years are different. 2014-2015 school year I spent my first year college in NY and was pretty miserable from mid 2015-early 2018 i spent the rest of my college years in NC and my life just felt different. In 2014 I couldn't wait to leave my little town and move back up north with my family and see my friends from my old church but things didn't go so well so I ended up back in NC. That experience really taught me to listen to the voice of God before making a big descion. I know most of you guys aren't religious but I believe God wanted me to stay in NC. That's why 2015 feels different to me than 2014.

For me, 2011 and 2012 are the only years that really blend together. All other years I can feel a distinct difference but something about both 2011 and 2012 that are exactly the same. I guess I had a lot of changes in my personal life throughout the decade.

Every year of the 10s feel distinct to me, but the years that blend the most would be 2016-17.

Heck, I want Gangnam Style and Call Me Maybe played at my wedding (no sarcasm!). 2013 was more sober, but it also was fun, though not as rememberable/silly. 2008-2012 music was like the modern version of the 80s without being as tacky/talentless as the 90s teen pop era.

For personal life: 2013 - mid 2014. Even in the secong half of 2014, especially August and September I met some very nice people abroad. I wish I appreciated 2013 and first half of 2014 better at the time. I was the happiest person on the world. :\' ( :)

I don't like 2015-present pop culture and trends hence it all blends to me. Also, I've been bothered by chronic depression since late 2014. Me giving off bad vibes makes others act rude to me. Night and day I pray to be happy and healthy again. :-[

All of them, with a few hiccups along the way, I enjoyed every moment.

Overall I'd say 2015. It was overall pretty quiet and not as much drama, and more good memories than bad. It's sad to say that 2012 and 2016 were my "better" years. Also 2010, 2011, 2017, and 2018 were fairly good.

Awe, but the Early 2013-Mid 2016 was fun  :( 2018 was dark for me, music was upbeat, sure, but there was Post Malone, Bazzi, Juice WRLD, Billie Eilish, and other pop/R&B artists being popular, making music seem dark. Please don’t tell me to watch the 2018 YouTube rewind again, please, have mercy, I don’t wanna puke on that cringevid again  :\'( ;D

It was a lot harder to rank the 2010's years because even the good years weren't so great, but the bad years weren't so bad either. 2016 for example had a mix of really good times in the first half and some sad times in the later half, so I wasn't sure where to rank it. 2018 was a year that wasn't too special, but not bad either. The second half was much better. I could probably move it up the ranking to even tie with 2010.

Pop culturally, I prefer the earlier part. I was an emo pop-punk kid back in the late 00s and 2010-2012 were the last years to have anything like that non-underground.

Yeah. Anything before late 2018 is straight fun for me

2017. Pop culture was pretty good. i loved all genres of music, films, and video games. I started the year with a girl that loved me for who i was and i`ve never received the love she gave me before. I`ve always been an awkward and sky kid. Wasn`t easy to build a bond with people but, i sure was getting better at it. We broke up unfortunately due to her cheating on me so i had more free time to work on myself. Keep in mind that i`m a YouTuber and that year was a very successful year for my channel. I enjoyed what i was doing. I then found interest in making music and i enjoyed that more then making videoes. I finally graduated from the middle school i used to hate so much aswell but, i enjoyed the school prom that we had before my holiday could kick off. I had so much fun.

I got to spend my Summer holiday traveling to Norway to visit my aunt and my cousins. I had such  a good time `cause Norway was once the country i lived in before i moved to England back in 14`.

By the time i came back from my holiday, i registered inthe00s website and found the perfect community to discuss topics such as Rock music and the future of it. That was also the time i discovered the artist "Lil Peep" through here. I don`t remember who recommended it to me but, i was grateful `cause i was listening to him for the rest of the year and onwards. It was time for a new beginning `cause i had now left school and i was ready to start for College studying Media Studies. I made two good friends and fell in love with a girl that i had met there who eventually broke my heart after i confessed to her about my feelings in mid-November of that year. Lil Peep`s music helped me get through it but, he eventually died that same month. I was hurt.

The pain didn`t last long though `cause the movie that i was waiting for "Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi" finally premiered in December of 17` and i got to watch it together with one of the close friends i made from college which was a fun experience. So the year ended with a positive closure. ;D

For me 2013 as well (although songs from the years before it seem catchier). But the vibe of it was so positive and fun still.

The summer of 2018 was amazing for me  :D.

It's a tie between 2010 and 2012.

I don’t know if its just be but I feel like the Summer parts of every year are the best parts of each year, both personally, and pop culturally. For example, Summer 2017 was the best part of 2017, when you had songs like Despacito, I’m the One, Wild Thoughts, etc. But the early Winter parts just feels dark for me, like Early 2018 was DARK, while Summer 2018, dark too, but had shining rays in the cave.

This is hard. I could make an argument for every year tbh but I guess these would be my picks:

Personal life: 2018. Graduated, had my last 5-ish months of 0 responsibilities & 100% free time, mostly taken up by this new wonderful game called Fortnite, then I started working which was amazing at first.

Culturally: While everyone hated the year at the time, in retrospect I think 2016 was actually awesome in many ways. Memes were at their peak (Harambe, We Are Number One, Leafy, MLG, etc.), OG Agario, Nintendo Switch hype, Zootopia, unique pop music, mobile gaming was still fun, etc.

2019. I was living in my own world and partying like it was 1999.

Now that I look back, I can move 2018 up even above 2010, so 3rd place. I just have a lot of fond memories of the entire second half of year. I can also put 2015 above 2010 as well. Now between 2018 and 2015, that's a close one but overall I have to give 2018 the edge. 2015 had a lot of great moments but it had some tough ones as well.
