Subject: Is EDM what disco was in the 70s?

First off, disco inspired EDM with the dancing, and some late 70s electronic disco songs like Stayin’ Alive and I feel love inspired EDM. They’re both meant for dancing, disco floors were made for not only disco, but House music, some Teen Pop, Electropop, and EDM. Disco’s reasons for popularity was to keep people happy and motivated and not worry about financial issues in the 70s, same with EDM, which motivates people as well. Yes, their rhythm and beats are far different, but they both share similarities. What do you think? Was EDM the Disco of the 70s?
