He didn't just act like a banger he kept it real. Rapped how he lives. He was expelled from school in 8th grade for general bad behavior. He spent time at Riker's Island in his teen years for selling dope. Rikers is where he joined the Nine Trey Gangsters affiliates of the Bloods.
He's actually done fairly well. I read where the average life expectancy of a 'banger is 20.5 years and he's made it to the ripe old age of 22. So he's got some sort of mojo working for him.
Nevertheless he's headed for the university now...
