Celebrated comedian, philanthropist, and purveyor of all things Jell-O, Bill Cosby is appearing today for his sentencing hearing.

The sentencing options cover a wide range from house arrest to 28 years in the slammer.  :o

News accounts from today indicate that prosecutors are recommending that America's Dad be designated as a "sexually violent predator" ("SVP"), which is a big deal in Pennsylvania and is a lifetime designation.

SVP is indeed a severe designation. Unfortunately I work with two women whose husbands were convicted of raping underage girls.  8-P. One on Christmas Day (he served 7 years hard time) and another who raped a girl from the age of 5 until 15 (he's now in the slammer for at least 25 years minimum). Neither of them have been designated as SVP's.

I don't understand those two women. One of them is is one of my "go to people"... has her head on straight, no-nonsense, all about getting the job done and done right. Yet she married this strutz right after he got out of the pokey. Dude raped a girl ON CHRISTMAS DAY.  8-P

The other one... her hubs raped a girl from the age of 5 for years. This creep actually pled guilty but then withdrew his plea when he changed lawyers. When he was convicted and sentenced to 25-51 years in the hole, she testified about how he was such a "great guy" and such a positive in her life. I cannot stand to even look at her even though by conventional standards she'd be considered relatively hot.

Looks like ol' Bill will do 22-34 months in jail.

If he serves the max, he’ll get out when he is 91 years old.  :o

He'll most likely die in prison, if he lives that long.

91 years old... he'd likely be the oldest dude in a Pennsylvania prison.

They've got both where he is imprisoned. He's in the new SCI Phoenix prison, which is Pennsylvania's replacement for the old Graterford Prison.  It is located on the same grounds as the old place.

All of the Graterford inmates were moved over to Phoenix. Graterford was the prison reserved for the "worst of the worst" in the Pennsylvania prison system. It's where all the bad boys get sent. Maximum security prison, of course, and it has capacity to warehouse 3200 offenders.
