I kind of thought 2016 was the peak 2016 year with Trump getting elected in all,but also the past 2 years could be debated as the peak 2010s year.I know that this year is probably the possible last year for a potential peak 2010s year because 2019 probably won't be any where considered still a peak 2010s year or maybe it could :o

Either 2013 or 2015, both very strong years culturally while the 2010s aesthetics were pretty much set in stone in both.

Absolutely not 2016, while being quite strong movie-wise it was a completely bland year for music and a bewildering year to forget when it comes to politics... It maybe ushered the late-2010s politic-wise, but it wasn't a peak in any thing, at least to me.

I agree.  Add to this the fact that hipster culture was just past its peak.  Indie folk was also still big in 2016.

Why do we only have a few years to choose from?  This decade peaked in 2013 for me.

Anything from 2011-2016 is peak 2010s. 2017-present feel like it'll continue in 2020.

I agree. You could say that 2011-2016 were the classic 2010s. We're currently in the Modern 2010s, especially with the Dotard in the Oval Office now.

I wouldn't call it "modern."  America has been overtaken by a deep, seething hatred and rage against all those who don't fit the white heterosexual fundamentalist Christian ideal.  People right now are obsessed with the 1950s and their desire to return there.
