I was wondering why 2018 is so pop culturally dull i mean when it comes to me im personally having fun but when I look into 2018 pop culturally its freakin bland as heck and even 2017 was way better pop culture wise.Maybe there is a transition on the horizon because why else would pop culture be so stale for 2018 it felt the same way in 2008 I can remember like yesterday it feeling this dull then out of nowhwhere the recession happened and oncomes gaga!!

Although I think its really hard for pop culture to really change like it use to because there so much internet now everthing is already or mostly exposed so upcomming pop culture won't seem as special unless something very new arrives and its good or some big event happens.

I think 2016-2017 was very good atmospherically and pop culture wise but 2018 for some reason couldnt follow up on what 2016-2017 did thats why I can see a shift coming I mean 2010s pop culture is pretty stale anyways right now and all we get is reboots,sequels and remakes in the movies thats a sign that things are stale.

Like I said personally Im freakin loving the hell out of my 2018 summer but pop culture wise I havent paid attention to it this year because its been so bland.Hopefully later 2018 is like late 08 or something to that extent.Thinks all of you people here at in the 00s :D

I know but I just remember that summer in 2001 being the most boring of all of them, and then BAM pop culture everywhere.
Those BAM like shifts always seem to happen when the summer is very boring, IE 2001 IE 2008

So for OP yes something is prob going to end up feeling like 2008 or 2001 did

Political controversy has worn us out and probably put us off of a lot of things. Maybe the same reason why people hate on 2000s culture, which had to deal with 9/11 and terrorism in developed countries.

I totally agree OP. It's a very dull, bland and boring year in pop culture. Nothing is happening. It hasn't felt this empty and boring since 2012 I think. But you know what happened after boring 2012, huge change happened. So it may be a good sign that 2019 will be a big year for change in pop culture.

I agree, personally.  I've been bored this year, simply because it hasn't felt like much has happened - I'm hoping that there's some kind of big change.  I want to see early 2020s culture.
