Heavy Summer 2001 vibes going on

Summer 2001 to be was kind of slow but you could feel a change was coming and BAM Fall 2001 was like time itself was speeding up, atleast for my
Junior High Experience, everything and anything could happen, I have honestly never felt anything like it .

Not talking about 9/11 of course, but I feel the slow methodical change some posters here felt in 2001 is going on right now, it feels almost the same.
Summer 2001 was almost 2 quiet as if it was waiting for a HUGE decade change to happen  and so is 2018 in a way.

*2018 seems to be the first legitimately "new school year" of this decade.
*The year basically kicked off with Tide pods being the first exclusively Gen Z stereotype.
*The Parkland shooting and the March for Lives challenge the notion of Gen Z being more conservative.
*The deaths of XXXTentacion, Jimmy Wopo, and Smoke Dawg impact fans of rap music. I have seen XXXTentacion compared to Biggie, which sounds very irrational in my humble opinion.
*There is a rumored King of the Hill reboot and a confirmed Daria reboot (no joke).
*The Traditionalist Worker Party, one of the largest alt-right groups, is no longer in existence.
*There seems to be some nostalgia of the 2000's now.
*Hipster glasses are no longer "en vogue".

That's a good argument too.

Late 2017 was (in my opinion) when the change began, and 2018 was when they got finalized. That's probably why I argued that 2018 had 1997 vibes.

I predict there will be NO shifts in pop culture for the remainder of the year. Not a whole lot will change. I can't believe I ever thought 2018 will be some crazy transitional year. We probably won't see any changes until the next decade, sadly.

Probably in 2021. 2020 will be the same as 2019 for the most part. The last shift we saw was in 2017, and even that wasn't as noticeable as 2013. Maybe there will be a slight change in 2019, but overall the late 10's culture has already established.

Yeah. The culture is just starting to stabilize and is just starting to be different from the mid-2010s, so I doubt that there will be any difference for the next couple of years. Maybe in 2021/2022.
