So, reading about XXXTentacion's death has led me to realize just how far behind I am musically; I'd never heard of the guy before he died. The main new music I listen to is usually electro pop by female singers (Taylor Swift, Megan Trainor, Julia Michaels). And some modern Imagine Dragons style stuff. The last time I was really into what was big musically had to be back when I was in my late teens outside of a few huge songs in the last few years (Animals, Blank Space, No).

That said, if you are between 12 and 21 here, list off some of the artists you and your peers listen to, and post your age as well. I am curious to hear what people younger than me are into. When I was 12, Eminem, 50 Cent, Evanescence, Avenged Sevenfold and such were the biggest things in music.

Spotify removed him from all of their official playlists because of all the controversy surrounding him. I forget the other rappers who they also did this to.

I mostly listen to popular music from the 1980s-present.

With a few pre-1980s songs, a few relatively unknown to moderately popular songs in my playlist.

As much as I don't like the guy, I thought it was pretty hypocritical for Spotify to remove his songs while keeping the music of other messed up people.

I never'd heard of him before his death either. I haven't really been following mainstream rap since 2011 when I gave my life to Christ, but I am familer with rappers like lil yacthy, lil uzui, 21 Savage, Joey BadA** and Chance the Rapper just to name a few. Most of the hip-hop I'm into is either Christian rap or mainstream Lyrical rap.

Literally everything dear I say! Even the non-music music I listen to ;D

Personnaly I want to explore as much as possible, from old Medieval Georgian Chant to the most mumbling Soundcloud trapper out there, passing by obscure folk music from Burkina Faso and experimental electronic looping tapes from the 70s, I want it all.

I'm a big consumer of the mainstream music if that consoles you. I think it's great to be a quirky indie listener without the elitism that goes with it.

I’m into classic rock, indie pop, indie rock, EDM and some mainstream pop songs. I like some xxxtentacion tracks as well, actually I was kinda obsessed with “F**k Love” in the last days, so it was really weird and sad when I knew he was dead.

Dont feel old if you didn't listen to or know XXXTentacion was, im 18 and I never listened to his music as its not very good at all imo and a lot of my friends don't really know about him or care. Tbh, I don't know why people my age even like trap, rappers like 21 savage, future or lil uzi vert are just the worst 8-P, I prefer artists like Kendrick Lamar or J Cole. Apart from that I mainly just listen to alternative rock and 2010s pop/EDM.
