I think it's bland in general. In personal terms it has been boring and meh i also feel like summer won't get any better since i gotta go to summer school.

Yes, definitely.  2017 and 2018 have been great years for me, in comparison to 2015 and 2016, which I believe to have been the worst years in my personal life as of far.  I can see some changes in culture this year, and I'm actually very excited for what's ahead of us.

2018 feels no different from 2017 or 2016, so no. Pop Culture has seemed to stagnate since 2014 or 2015.

Well on a personal level 2017 was absolutely amazing, so its been a touch act to follow for 2018. So far its hasn't been very good, but I wouldn't be surprised if I end up being nostalgic about it in a few years time.

Yeah 2015 hasn't been pretty great for me either but i do get nostalgic for it now and then and for 2017 it was great year for me.

2018 has been kind of boring for me in personal terms but i did finally move and go to a new school so and i'm graduating middle school in like 14 or 15 days so i should give 2018 a little bit of love but going to summer school made me kind of down 2018.

Even though 2012 was 6 years ago I still don't have much nostalgia for really any of the pop culture at the time (besides Minecraft I guess, lol). Meanwhile '16 and '17 were pretty recent and I already have a lot of songs and whatnot that make me nostalgic for stuff I was doing at the time.

I feel like since 2016, pop culture has been getting stronger every year. I have a good feeling about 2019 and 2020.

It's been OK so far, We got Donald Trump, The #Me Too Movement & Tide Pod Challenges to name a few.

I agree with this. I don't have a lot of nostalgia for 2013 up through 2015.  I have a little more for 2016 an am already somewhat nostalgic for 2017.  Nothing compared to the early '10s though.

2018 has been a great year for music.  I don't like the politics and my personal life is getting to the point where I wonder if there is any hope at all.

2018 has been great to me so far, I finished college, and I made some amazing friends this year and last year.

Personally it's been a great year for me, not really liking all the politics & shootings etc.. getting real tired of seeing it happen

Overall, I'm ready for this year to be over. Not that I have much hope that 2019 will be much better. It isn't particularly bad like 2014, but it's not particularly great either. At least I have a good job so I'm thankful for that, but at the same time I won't have any exciting travel plans like I did in the past. It seems to be yet another year with more mass shootings, extreme polarized political divide, and a general hostile and mean spirited vibe as seen on social media. In the metro where I live, it's been a violent year. In my personal life, I've been having marital troubles and need counseling now.  The music is pretty bland too. We're almost halfway through the year and what I have mostly on my playlist are girly artists like Ariana Grande. The movies are one thing I like about this year.

In my personal life, I definitely like 2018.  In terms of the year as a whole so far, I actually think I liked 2017 a lot more - at this time last year, I would have been a lot more optimistic about summer, and I remember everything still feeling somewhat new - but I like 2018 a lot more than I liked 2015 and 2016.  I like how you can slowly see more throwback 90s culture seeping through, but I don't see many signs toward what the culture of the upcoming decade will be yet, which is understandable.

It's sad to say that I actually consider 2015 and 16 the "good times". 2017 and 18 are ok in my personal life and not nearly as bad as 2nd half 2013/1st half 2014, but not as memorable as '15 and '16.

Pop culture in 2018 is absolute trash and garbage, no question about it and it has been for the last 2 years (well arguably the last 20 years). Having said that, 2018 is fine for me. Nothing to complain about and life is going good for me. I'm appreciating every year for what it is and I can't really say certain years are better than others anymore. As long as there isn't a death in the family or a bad depressive period, then the year is perfect in my eyes.

2018 is pretty good so far. Music's pretty good and the movies that were released are on of the best movies ever. I'm gonna be taking my country's equivalent of the SATs later this year which is pretty crappy but other than that it's pretty good.

I don't know why so many people prefer mainstream music today than in the mid '10s (and early '10s over mid '10s), but to each his own. I am one of the rare people here who actually think the mid 2010s were the best period for mainstream music. Only outlier from the early 2010s is 2013, which was actually the best year for mainstream music this decade.

I'm liking 2018. I would say 2017 was better because the start of this year wasn't great, I had a really long and tough semester at university. But this spring/summer is going great and making up for it and I'm moving out this year too so that's a big change. 2017 and 2018 are both good years. But I am of course talking personal life, pop-culture wise it's really terrible imo but whatever.  :P
