Nostalgia runs in cycles, 80s phase 1 started in 1998 with the Wedding Singer, Continued in Phase 2 with Vice City & That 80s show in 2002,
and became Mainstream in 2005 with Vh1's I love the 80s, 80s sampled songs, Tab Soda, Transformers, Surreal Life, Madonna's Confessions. This is just an example
of things come back in phases,  Phase 1 you see little trinkets of it,  Phase 2, Things heat up but are not mainstream yet and phase 3 when it is without
a shadow of a doubt mainstream. Right now for the 2000's coming back we are in Phase 1 where things are not quite mainstream but are slowly gaining stream.

Ugh, I really hate this, nostalgia is supposed to be fun remembering stuff, not lame-o competition and hierarchy.

2000's nostalgia is mostly early 2000's nostalgia right now.

I hope we ditch this uncreative approach to "new" pop culture once and for all. The 20s needs to be its own thing. Ya'll needa leave the 20th century behind.

One thing I will say is that phone charms coming back is dope, but now it's more sleek and classy compared to the cheap, plastic designs of 00s cell phones charms.

In fact, I agree.

Even if I am not really a fan of stuff from this decade, I like the things that are original rather than the things that are for nostalgia purposes.

I genuinely hope the 2000s never "come back". I want the 2020s to be special and full of new, never seen before trends. I want new music genres, new movie franchises, new fashion styles, new technology, etc..., not recycled stuff from 20 years ago.

Agreed i also want 2020s culture to be seperated from 1920s culture hopefully when the 2020s are over cultural references can be made in the future.

I can't believe I'm playing Vice City for the first time. I bought the digital software for the PS4. I like the game so far except for the camera controls and the occasional glare from the sun. I noticed that San Andreas resolved those issues. I do like the 80's nostalgia of course, mainly the music. I do remember in 2002 seeing it on display at the video game store at the mall when it first released. I remember hearing one of those old school rap songs during the display. The game became very popular (and controversial) after that. I had a Gamecube and not PS2 so that's why I never played it until now.
