If trump wins in 2020 over a progressive canidate then late 2010s culture will continue. If a democrat wins there will huuuge changes. I feel like every presidency since jfk has changed America. 1963 Reagan in 80. Clinton in 92. Obama in 08 and trump in 16 seem to be culture changing presisidencies

I hope a Democrat wins, mostly because I’d like the 20s to be drastically different from any other decade preceding it. A huge cultural reaction against everything the 2010s stood for. Something like that would bring back the strong decade identity.

I think that depending on who wins, it could change the "feeling" of the world - like you said, the world felt different when Obama was president, and in 2016 the world began feeling different after Trump was elected.  I think that a different president coming into 2020 would change the feeling of the world, and maybe kickstart whatever 2020s culture will look like.

In fact, on election day, they were holding auditions for a new news network, Trump News Network... if Trump had lost the election you would have seen a new Cable News Network with Trumps name...

If Trump loses in 2020 then he'll most likely be seen as a late 2010's aspect. More people will probably consider 2016 to be the start of the cultural late 2010's (even though I already think that's the case)
