What is your favorite summer year of this decade
Mines is Summer of 2016 because it had a nice vibe also summer of that year i prank called mcdonalds ;D my first ever prank call.

Summer of 2015 because i went to the beach and a road trip.

Summer of 2013 because i had a family reunion  it was pretty fun.

I know what you mean. My ranking is pretty  meaningless since I enjoyed all of them. I enjoyed 2017, 2012 and 2014 a lot more than the rest though.

I tried to play Pokemon Go on my tablet but my tablet was being slow and stupid and one night i went pokemon go catching with my brother during the Pokemon Go craze.

Also i remember seeing one of these videos, Pokemon Go was really that big ;D.

I should have mentioned "summer haters" in my post in the dealbreakers thread.  :-X

It's hard to rank them and even decide which is my favorite, so I'll describe each one:

2010 - visited Georgia and took a trip within the trip to Miami. My favorite song was "OMG" by Usher
2011 - I was living in Italy and it had a good vibe. Party Rock Anthem seemed to be the anthem of that summer. I also visited England in June.
2012 - Best summer of the early 10's. Took a trip around Italy and to Switzerland with my now ex-fiance. Proposed to said ex-fiance in Venice. I actually like the song "Call Me Maybe" just because it reminds me of that time. "Wide Awake" by Katy Perry was another one.
2013 - Had better summers. Got to the ship in Norfolk, VA which was the beginning of the worst time of my life. The song I remember liking was "Clarity" by Zedd, but I didn't care for most of the popular music at the time, especially not "Blurred Lines" or Miley Cyrus.
2014 - Also pretty bad but started the better (or less miserable) half of 2014. One good thing I remember is driving to Orlando and Miami. Favorite song was "Latch" by Disclosure feat. Sam Smith. "Rude" by Magic are "Boom Clap" by Charli XCX were good too.
2015 - Best summer since 2012. After returning from deployment, took a road trip to the mountains of Georgia and Tennessee. Also shortly before returning, I visited the South of France. I also got married. I mostly associate Jon B's "B Sides Collection" with that summer, even though it was older.
2016 - Tie with 2015 being the best summer of the mid 10's. Visited Japan. On the downside however I got news about my aunt having cancer, and she passed in September. Favorite songs were "Middle" by DJ Snake and "One Dance" by Drake.
2017 - Took a road trip to Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Bought a house and did some work on it. At the same time it was stressful on the ship.

Summer of 2014 was probably the last normal summer for me before everything in my life changed.  I was running around with all of my friends all the time and I wasn't exactly happy back then, not at all, but I was happy enough and the sun shone bright enough and days felt like they'd never end. 

So far, all the summers of the 2010s were great. Pop culturally the past summer was one of the best. A lot of really nice songs were released. Personally though, my favorite would have to be 2016.

Every other summer of this decade was equally awful.

My favorite summers are 2010, 2011, and 2012.

2010 because I got a chance to really spend time with my Godmother and that was when I first got introduced to Facebook (I ended up having to delete it due to reasons I don't want to discuss).

2011 I went to Disney for the first time since I was 2 and it was fun.

2012 I got go to Chicago for a family reunion, it was the first time I flew a plane since 2005 when I visited Kansas City
I visited Kansas City.

1. 2018 (summer here in australia is during north america's winter months.. probably the best summer i've had in a long time, spent many days at the beach, hanging with my girlfriend & her friends, went on a road trip from Adelaide to Brisbane, got engaged)

2. 2011 (Spent a month at my friends cabin out in the forest on a lake, lots of  partying, i broke my arm a few months before so i was still in a cast..)

3. 2015 (went on a motorcycle trip down the coast with my friend and his girlfriend, rode for about 4 days to san diego, drove around mexico for a few hours and came back, drove to vegas up through utah and back home)

4. 2010 (went to a football camp in texas with my team, long long bus ride but it was heaps of fun)

5. 2012 (I don't remember any of these summers so i guess they weren't that memorable haha)

8. 2017 (Never had a summer for 2017, when i left home it was spring and came to australia & it was fall here)

I'm going to JAPAN this summer!!! Summer 2018 is going to be the best summer ever! :D


My body is literally ready. I've been weightlifting for 6 months now and got a 4 pack. When the spring comes I'm biking 20 km to work everyday, so that's 500 additional calories burnt everyday, the 6 pack will be complete in no time. I'm so damn ready for the beach!

The summers always have a soft place in my heart. I guess my favorite summers were the Summers of 2014 and 2015, because I was in Florida during those times. It was just so unique, and never stayed so long in another state from home state before. Floridian summers have a tropical Caribbean vibe to it.  :)

Although, So Cal (my home) summers are awesome too! I'll take So Cal summers any day!  ;D

2016 was a lot of fun too, with Pokémon GO.


I remember thinking that Pokemon Go was the one thing that cheered people up that summer. Before that it was one terrible news story after another, like the Orlando nightclub shooting and then the Dallas police shooting.
