We are in a serious era, with school shootings and other such things. It is not a time for the empty frivolity and silliness of so-called "camp". It is time for something meaningful and soulful. And, don't misunderstand,  this not not have to equate with "depressing". Just...serious. Trust me, it would be more meaningful, enlightening and ultimately more uplifting  for all of us.

Anyway, back on topic. It would be interesting if the 2020s had some fun/campy/cheesy elements in its pop culture. In the 2010s pop culture seems to be trying to hard to be "dark and edgy", and/or "deep and profound", without actually being so. There's nothing wrong with movies/T.V. shows having a darker vibe or having a deeper/thought-provoking message if: a) It is genuine and has good writing/characters. b) There are other more lighthearted (this has become stigmatized in the 2010s for some reason) and middle-ground (not too dark but not too silly) shows/movies/pop culture to balance everything out. c) It is not just dark for shock value, or "deep" in order to have some pseudo-intellectual message.

Not really. Camp and Homosexual do overlap, but they are not the same. He-Man (1980s cartoon) is called campy, but I don't remember anyone calling the show as something for "homosexuals". Nearly everything from the 80s is called campy. It can be used to describe something gay men would do or when on camp is used on its own it just describes something that is exaggerated and cheesy.

On topic I wouldn't mind if pop culture was to take some of the exaggerated and cheesy elements that say the 1960s, 1980s, or late 90s/early 00s had where a lot of things felt over-the-top and wacky. I wouldn't want the same exact pop culture from those time periods, but just the wackiness that those periods had.
