I thought the manbun had long hair all around, just tied up in a bun? Not the sides and back shaved?

On another thread on the topic a lot of the Brits/Europeans mentioned that they still see it, so it might be a regional difference.
Over here it was big around 2014-2016, then the people who realized manbun looked awful on them stopped, so now only people who actually rock the look still keep it.

I've actually noticed more people with the style in the past year than I did in 2013-2016. The ones who like it don't seem to be letting it go. That was why I asked. It seems more common now, at least where I live, particularly among Hispanic guys.

The first one is a ponytail. I think manbuns are supposed to be very tight or small.

Had to check to see if this thread was made today and not in like 2014. Man buns are mostly dead. I haven't seen one in forever.

Manbuns are for guys who used to be emo or goths.... just kidding. Manbuns where I live went far back as 2012 I'm serious.
