Subject: Late 60s/Early 70s Revival in Late 10s/Early 20s

Written By: Karioprkaj on 03/15/18 at 6:06 pm

Guys, did you notice that bell-bottoms and long hair are coming back?

Didn't long hair come back in various ways in the last several decades unless you're talking about natural long hair?

I would say the late 60s had more in common with the mid '10s.  I think we are currently moving into an ultra-conservative, Reaganesque era dominated by Christian fundamentalism and conformism.

In the early to mid-2010s, a lot of people had undercuts.
Very true, but I have also seen people with long hair especially on women over the past several years too.

Even if bell-bottoms came back (which I didn't notice so far), it will more in line with the current late 90s-early 2000s revivals (which already had 60s-70s revivals).

I have said before that I think 2020s fashion will resemble the 70s a bit and it's great that there's someone else who thinks like me.

I don't get this entire thread. Nothing about now says that we will have a late '60s or early '70s revival.

Nowadays, there is really no fashion consensus. People wear whatever they want and they take inspiration from any previous decade.

Some people have more of a '90s inspired style, some an '80s inspired one, some a '00s inspired one, others a '70s inspired one, etc.

Some people wear an outfit inspired by MULTIPLE decades.

None of that means that there will be a late '60s/early '70s revival.

No we are going into a more isolationist, protectionist, populist era, that's quite different than the neoliberal era Reagan ushered in, heck the Trump Era is frankly a backlash to that(it's been a long time coming). A left wing demagogue could just as easily take that torch and run with it in 2020 or 2024.

I think 2000s = 1920s
2010s = 1930s

You agree?

In the United States? Definitely not.

Politically the 2010s is extremely similar to the 1930s. Same with people's attitudes.

Please expound.  Besides the overall isolationism in the public, I'm not seeing it.

Not bell-bottoms, but I noticed flared jeans were a thing in the spring/summer of 2017, but as soon as autumn came they were GONE.

2010s hair was always on the long side if you're talking about women.

As for men, I can't say I've noticed much "long hair". The main thing I noticed is that dramatic fades on the undercuts are gone, fades nowadays look a lot more blended in and natural. You won't see people with their sides completely shaved off with long hair on top anymore, the sides are still shorter but in a more natural looking way.
