Subject: Anyone else noticing big, metal eyeglasses making a comeback?

For most of the 2000s, small, rectangular metal eyeglass frames were pretty much the only acceptable style of glasses. Then around the early 2010s you had rectangular plastic frames with thicker frames (in very 1960s Mad Men style styles) becoming popular with the Hipster crowd and it gradually became acceptable in the mainstream.
Since around last year, I've seen eyeglasses very similar in size and material to what people would've worn in the 1980s and early 1990 here in Brooklyn on many a face - Usually thick Aviator or more square metal frames, or large metal oval frames like were popular in the mid 1990s.
Anyone else seeing this in your area?

Since around September of 2017, I have seen more and more people wear aviator glasses.

Actually, small glasses seem to be in.

I've definitely noticed this. It seems to be the in thing now for glasses!

It seems contact lenses are the in thing at the moment.

Once a year they start wearing New Year's Eve glasses just for fun, they can either save them or just dispose them later.
