Some males wear shorts year round. Not only that, but they feel it is appropriate to wear them almost anywhere, anytime. This unfortunate trend can be traced directly back to grunge and the early 90s. People don't connect this trend with grunge now, but that's where it originates. Prior to the early 90s, men's shorts were far shorter (think old basketball uniforms), and were not worn year round and on any occasion like the current long, baggy shorts are. I wish this pretentious trend would end already, but no end is in sight. Another of these pretentious trends that can be traced back to grunge are the wearing of woolen winter hats by males year round, including in the summer.

Where you located around? I live in Houston. I've been seeing teen boys with this style here and there more and more. I would take a picture but...uh...a gay grown man taking pics of teen boys? I'm not earning that reputation.

Despite the recent cold snap Houston isn't that cold in the winter so something like this is probably more likely to catch on. I do remember it back in the late '90s where I live but it wasn't super widespread. Typically the skater guys dressed like that.

The undercut, has that become infamously known as the "Richard Spencer haircut"?

I noticed that too. When I vacation in Europe/Asia, when I got old enough, my parents wouldn't let me wear shorts even if it was blistering hot outside. I think only kids wear shorts over there. I've never seen my dad wear shorts either. Meanwhile in the Anglosphere countries, people wear shorts all the time, even seniors!
Yeah, I noticed everyone wearing toques/beanies all the time too, even in hot weather. I assume they have a bald spot, or a bad hair day. Oh yeah, baseball hats too. You can spot a North American from a mile away in Europe if you see them wearing a baseball hat and shorts ;D

Tbf I live in Canada and it's snowing, so no one is wearing shorts. Bump this thread in April and I'll give my indispensable opinion ;D
