Decadeology at it's finest. How can you compare the two years, when America hasn't even entered 2018 yet. ::)

2019 was better pop culturally but it was a really tough time for me in my personal life, it will be a while before I can be nostalgic for it.
2018 was as lame as 2017 pop culturally, but it was definitely a more peaceful and calmer time compared to today. It has a that dreamy 2010s vibe that I'm starting to miss.

In seriousness, 2019 just sounds 'different' from 2017. 2018 could go either way. Just a gut feeling...that could be wrong.

2019 has sort of a 2020s vibe, but there were still some late '10s influences as well. 2018 was pure late 2010s, so I prefer 2019.

Now that I think of it, it kind of does sound ‘different’ I feel like 2019 will have a different vibe to it.

Pop culturally 2019 was far better than 2018, but 2018 was the best year of my life. :D

2018 had better pop music than 2019, which had better hip-hop than 2018. Personal-wise, I'd take 2019 any day over 2018! Although to be fair late 2018 was a bit better than late 2019, especially with the late 2018 shift that led us into early 2020's culture. Music started getting terrible around 2020 when robots started singing, but it wasn't until 2023 when robot celebrities were more common than human celebrities. I personally think everything after 2022 is terrible.

No. The early 2020s started in late 2018 so 2019 was 100% early 2020s. There were even some songs in 2017 that sounded 2020s, like Gucci Gang and It's Everyday Bro. I remember when those songs came out I thought "wow this sounds new".

I miss it when people didn't have their virtual reality goggles stuck to their head all day, and people talked to each other face to face. It was such a carefree time and not everything was political like today. Back then kids actually went outside and people went to the mall. I miss my childhood, especially 4th grade (2016-2017 school year).

2018 was a very tense and scary year, news wise.
Not only where terrorist attacks plaguing Europe and on one occasion, the US (the bus bombing in Salt Lake City). But the NYC serial killer manhunt frightened everyone in the Northeast, and North Korea was on everybody's minds.
Not to mention, the earthquake in Oregon and tornadoes in Nebraska. The floods in Japan.
2019 was, by far, a calmer and more optimistic year. Self-driving cars became a thing, consumers' latest craze. Music started getting better around this time. Which brings us to where we are today, in 2024, electropunk and nu-trance is everywhere and I dig it.
If I were y'all, I'd be cautiously optimistic. All your fears of the Trump Admin, while wholly justified considering the circumstances of your present political climate, will fortunately be overshadowed by the positive results of the 2020 election and a surprisingly transparent government in the 2020s.
Now if only President Ventura can do something about those drug cartels that drastically rose in power in the past few years.

I miss the 2010s already. I miss waking up to "Gucci gang" being played on the radio before i went to College.
I miss Summer, 2019. I miss Hip-Hop. Everything is just electo robotic trash and nothing makes sense. The music in the 2010s had atleast a purpose and a meaning to skrew hoes and get paid. It was iconic. I miss Justin Bieber. King of Pop. I miss Taylor Swift. Queen of Pop. I miss a time when people used to wear actual clothes instead of space lookin suits with a VR headset.
I miss the Playstation 5 and all the games that came along with it. I miss social media like Snapchat, Vine, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook. The only thing that is alive now is Music.ly. I believe it`s the app of our generation. But i can`t stay mad at it because it gave birth to our most iconic artist of this decade. Jacob Satorious.

I agree with this. I’m not a big fan of today’s music. All it really is are robots singing and they all have a monotone voice. I remember doing the whip nae nae back in 2015. That was the sh*t back then. I can’t believe that was a decade ago.

Actually the Early 2010s were the only good last time period and who else remember that time when Logan Paul showed a dead body in his video back in '18?

Logan who?
Oh THAT Logan.
I haven't heard his name since he did that duet with Camilla Cabello (who I always found to be hot). Shame about what happened to Logan's brother Jake. I still remember the night Jake's plane went down. Can't believe it was 4 years ago.
