While we don't know where music and fashion will go in the next decade, there are things we can predict.  Politically, our society will become increasingly more polarized over issues such as abortion, gay rights, religion in the public square, and race relations.  The Internet as we know it, following the net neutrality decision, won't disappear overnight.  However, by 2024 we will have a radically different Internet.  It will become much like a satellite TV service, where we pay for access to certain websites in tiered plans.  The free and open Internet will be a thing of the past.  With that said, TOR and the deep web will become much more popular.  Our society will change significantly with technological advancements such as self-driving cars.  I believe the '20s will be the decade where self-driving cars start to catch on.  I think urban areas will become more liberal and rural areas will become more conservative.  There is going to be an increasing geographical divide in this country.  The '20s will also be the decade where automation finally kills manufacturing in America.  There will be no need for workers when you can build a machine to run assembly lines, providing permanent free labor.  America is likely to experience the worst recession since the Great Depression within the next decade.  It could come as early as 2018 but it might be delayed until the 2020s.  Trump will likely win re-election in 2020 simply because his base is so devoted to him. I think the division between rural and urban areas is going to escalate into a legitimate chance that the union will break up. I think by 2030, America will either be split into two or more independent nations or we will succumb to fascism or socialism.  Democracy will not make it to 2030.

Drug cartels will be the next big bogeyman, and the Mafia will make a shocking comeback in the US. Lots of gang and drug-related violence and shootouts in public areas. Serial killers will replace mass shooters as the national bogeyman, alongside cartels and organized crime in general.
The prostitution industry will crumble, as they feel as though they are under attack by politicians and psychopathic murderers alike.
I don't think Trump will win 2020. He will lose against an underdog populist Democrat, but only by a slight margin.
I think the next President will face a sheeshload of blame, for all the unprecedented technological advances.

I do think the '20s are going to be very different from the '10s and '00s.  I think the '10s, overall, is like the '00s Part Deux.  Yes there are some real and major differences but in the grand scheme of things, the decades really aren't that different.  You don't see the kind of differences between the '00s and '10s that existed between the '80s and '90s or the '50s and the '60s.  I think the '20s are going to be a sharp contrast to the '10s.  People who like the '10s need to enjoy it while it's still here because once it is gone, it will be gone.  This will an era that people 20-30 years from now will look back on as another world, like people today look back on the 1950s and '60s.  I personally am not optimistic about the '20s.  Maybe I'll be proven wrong but I'm fearful.

In my opinion Politics has always been terrible. Never was something I ever had hopes for due to usually being annoyed or disappointed by the results. So I mainly just stay neutral and not really pay attention as there has never been a time where I'd consider politics to be good.

What I mainly pay attention to is economy and pop culture. I've tend to notice that a decent or good economy can lead to good pop culture (not always, but in past examples this is somewhat the case). I just hope pop culture in the '20s will be great.
