I know that's a shocker coming from me as I always say the cultural '10s started in late 2008, but Avatar to me seems like a 2000s movie for the fact that the technology used in there no longer looks special (even dated in some ways compared to today) but I remember how cool and futuristic Avatar looked when it just got released.

Avatar was the beginning of the 3D craze as far as I am concerned.  Yes, there was 3D movies before that, but it seemed like Avatar was the first where 3D was promoted to the extent that it was.

Another thing that represents the 2010s is divided politics, especially mid-2010s onward, with left and right tossing brutal insults at each other, and "enlightened centrists" (who are usually just plain center conservatives) oftentimes pitching in with "Woah man, we need to listen to both sides here", even if the other side is an actual Nazi and not just a bogeyman.

I can't speak for your personal experience but culturally, you act like January 1st 2013 is the start when everyone decided to be "evil" and making "terrible" movies, music, game, etc. Every decade has their negatives. No one was holding hands and singing at the meadow during the Early 2010s and before. Plus, 2013 wasn't that different from 2012, its culturally early 2010s with mid 2010s influence popping up.

Do you even understand? It's not like January 1, 2013 was the end of society. There were still GOOD things that happened in 2013, and came out that year. In 2013 my autism got much worse, and I lost friends as well.

There's some mature 10s kids i've come across (such as my cousins Hannah and Evan born 2010 and 2012, respectively), but from my experience most are spoiled brats. In 9th grade (2004 borns) they are stuck up and spoiled. Trust me, i've met them, i'm in the same school as them. I also know someone named Kyle and he is 10 years old, and he acts like a stuck up brat. He gets everything he wants, and got GTA when he was 5 (i'm not kidding. He was given GTA when he was 5, I remember he turned 5 in December). He rages like an animal whenever I beat him in a video game, too (one time about 3 years ago I made him rage in Black Ops 2, and he called me the n-word, even though i'm not even black). I'm not lying either. He also plays Fortnite, watches 3am videos, watches Baldi's Basics videos, etc. The usual things for a kid today to do.

Hannah and Evan are good kids. They're mature for their age (Evan turns 6 tomorrow, and Hannah is 8). However, they are a little spoiled because they got iPads when they were only like 3/4 which is too young. I know a 3/4 year old would only watch preschool shows on there, but still...

I've also met 4 people on Xbox who are 15, 14, 12 and 9, and 2 are immature brats. The only one that isn't a raging immature squeaker is the 14 year old. They play CoD, Fortnite (like most kids these days), and Roblox, but mostly Fortnite.

In short not all 10s kids are the same.

Actually, mathematically, the day of your 8th birthday is the centre of being 5-10 years old. But that's not to detract from your point since I personally I don't believe in "peak childhood". If you think being 7 1/2 best defines your childhood then that's what it is. ;)

I still spent little more childhood in the 2000s. I think 7 is peak childhood because it's the last age you're still not halfway over with elementary. 8 is already more than halfway through with your elementary school  years. 4 isn't included because most 4 year olds are still in preschool and are also usually still in the preschool demographic of shows like Barney and Sesame Street.

Agreed. Thats why i personally believe that peak childhood should be based on personal preference and not a set age.

People were saying the same thing about us mid-late 99s borns back in 09-16. I remember late 80s and early 90s borns used to always make fun of us for not being 90s kids. They'll say stuff like "you guys don't play outsude", "yall missed out on the good cartoons", "you guys are spoiled". In reality most of us older 2000s kids grew up simlar to 90s kids. Sure we had high-speed Internet and cellphones at younger ages, but we still used vhs tapes, watched saturday morning cartoons and remember a world pre-smartphone.
