The atmosphere is telling me things will shift in either the wibter,spring,or summer of 2018 and not late 2018,but that's just my opinion,thanks for answering and when do you think culture will shift early,mid,or late 2018 or not 2018 at all,thanks for answering. :P

Maybe. I think 2018 will be a transitional year and the most noticeable shift will happen around summer to fall of 2018. Or the 2018 - 2019 school year may have a huge shift. But I can be wrong. It is possible we will have relatively the same culture until the early 2020s, I hope this isn't the case though and we get change soon!

Trap is the worst fudgeing genre I have ever heard, has no soul, no talent, cheap to make and produce, no effort, nothing good behind it and yet it is eaten up by the masses.... I wish we could do something about it.

Me 3! Trap needs to die. That's why I had to take a break from rap music because there was too much trap influences.

I know that's great that means the next style of culture and music will be very exciting,very different,new,and world changing forever.

We're in the age of digital music. A Trap Demolition Night isn't gonna happen. However...
Shirts and signs that says "Trap Sucks", "Trap Sticks", "Trap is for losers".
I hate to say it but that's the quickest way we're gonna move beyond this stage in music.

We are in the new ERA right now, right now 2017 is the transition to the2020's. We don't have to wait. We are in it right now lol

If 2017 is a transition, it is very mild. It really feels stagnant now and I don't feel any transition going on.

That is something I have certainly seen, people wearing fake glasses, even the frames with no lenses in.

That's been a thing since 2009/2010. I used to do that, when I was a teenager. It was meant to be ironic, rather than a fashionable choice. ;D

Well, the idea is that glasses make you look smart and intelligent, but there is obviously nothing intelligent about wearing glasses without any lenses. That's why it's ironic. :P

Samsung has confirmed it. The Samsung Galaxy X will be released next year. This will be the first smartphone with a foldable display ever. It will be both a smartphone and tablet depending how you fold it and it is very futuristic. I think 2018 will be a transitional year, not to mention almost all phones will be bezeless by that time too.

No need to go insulting each other. We're all just trying to put in our thoughts and contribute to the thread.
Natural disasters aren't really known to cause cultural shifts. I don't know any point in time where anyone ever said that because of tsunamis, hurricanes, storms, blizzards, earthquakes etc have caused a new era. Cultural changes are more tied to ideas and perspective changes and not natural disasters. I can't see the 2020s pop culture happening because of natural disasters that happened in 2016-2017.
