I feel like everything after late 2011 was sterile and bland. There was only a few good changes by mid 2016.

I really liked the colorfulness of 2008 to 2011/2012. But I do agree with you, 2011/12 to 2015 was bland as hell!

Ah, my college years...a stretch of time during which modern culture went from fairly competent to pretty much trash. Wasn't the easiest time for me personally, either.

Other than politics everything is still sterile and bland.

I would say more like late 2013 until now.

I agree, if it hadn't been for 2011-2015 being the boundaries of college for me, I wouldn't have commented.

2010-2012 was very sterile and bland. 2013 was an amazing year with so many things happening. 2014 and 2015 were just okay, yet still kind of boring, 2015 being slightly more exciting. And 2016 was just awful but still nowhere near as bad as 2010-2012. Everybody on here seems to love the early 2010s except for me.  ;D

I honestly wouldn't have comment on most of these if Steve Jobs didn't die from cancer and didn't get replaced by Tim Crook.

Everything has gone sterile and bland.  We live in a world where there are hand sanitizer dispensers everywhere, where kids wear helmets to ride bicycles, and where plastic bags contain warnings to not pull them over you head and tie them off.

Back in my day we rode down the big hill by my house clocked at 53mph on our bikes, without helmets or knee pads.  we played tackle football in our gym clothes.  And "sanitizer" was something that hospitals used.

Life involves risk.  Take a risk... make it happen...

It's nice to see people sharing their personal experiences even if it's only once in a while. It's just a shame to see the board getting clogged up with a billion stupid threads about how "XXXX year to XXXX year was lame" or "XXXX year is the change from the previous era" with minor one-two years variants. There's no need.

It's always been like that. If I find a topic boring I simply ignore it and move on.

2011-13 was great except for the negative events. 2014-15, not so much.

As my signature indicates, 2011 has been my favorite 10s year thus far... and for multiple reasons.

Aside from it having been a standout year for me personally, I really enjoyed experiencing again the novelty surrounding a brand new chronological decade. The previous year, 2010, still kind of felt a little 00s to me in a strange way. By 2011, I knew that we were in the early 10s.

What's more, 2011 predated the rash of unpleasantries (domestic violence, mass shootings, Black Lives Matter, Boston Marathon bombing, ISIS, Trump) that we've come to immediately associate with this decade.

Yeah, 2011 was pretty refreshing, and I agree it was the only year aside from 2010 that didn't have the atmosphere we have today. The only bad things that happened that year were the Japanese Tsunami and the Arizona shooting, and the good was Bid Laden finally being executed.

The music was pretty good; the games were still great, and the movies had variety since they had not yet focused on the dark & serious tone that is shown in almost every movie (& TV show), and the Marvel/DC universe.

2011-2016 was really bland is non eventful and not a good atmosphere but lucky 2017 was a little better 2010 was really the only 2010s year that felt refreshing and cool and not all 2010s and some of 2011. I hope 2018 continues to keep getting better right into 2020! :)

I always bash the 2010s but yeah your right its not a terrible decade  just a very bland decade which tbh the only really bland and boring part of the 10s was 2012-2016. 2017 was damn near awesome I miss that year and 2010 and 2011 weren't great but definentley beats 2012-2016.I think 2018 can be good to if it picks up steam and yeah 2000-2006 was awesome sauce.
