What do we call this decade? Tenties? Teenies? Tens?  I was looking at a British article on what the nickname of the decade should be. This was back in January of 2010 and they still can't figure out what to call it. I'm thinking we should call it the Tenties.

Call it as just the Tens. There isn't really any cool nicknames for the decade unlike the 2000s.

I just called it "The Tens".

However, some nicknames for the 2010s could be....

1. "The One Ohs"
2. "The Teens"
3. "The Twenty Teens"

The Tens is the only nickname that does pretty much fit but once it does end they'll give it one like they did with the 2000's.

Funny but I definitely don't think the 2010s become irrelevant in the decades to come. Many people also said that the 2000s would be become irrelevant right about now.

Yeah, I know. We're talking about nicknames for the 2010s not how it's pronounced. "Twenty Tens" is the actual pronunciation of 2010s, it's not a nickname. "The Tens" is a nickname for 2010s.

Pretty much everyone called this decade the '10s or the "tens".

The '00s is a bit more disputed.  The "two thousands" is most common but I also hear "the aughts" used as well.

I call it the tens, two thousand tens for the full version. For the 00's, I call them the zeroes.  :P

I call the 2000s the uh-ohs (especially when people write it like '00s - which is referring to "oh" for the word zero). I've seen someone call it this on a show I watched and ever since then I started calling it that too.

twenty tens just sounds the best in my opinion even though up until about 2014 I still said 'two thousand' at the beginning
