Subject: The Pitbull Appreciation Thread!!!!
Written By: JordanK1982 on 12/18/16 at 6:46 pm
I just wanted to start this thread so I and other fans of the ever so classy Pitbull could discuss Mr. Worldwide! 8)
So, recently I've been listening to his album Planet Pit. So far I'm liking what I hear. He is smooth on the rhyming and the rhythms are top notch. Never a trashy moment, always classy. 8)

Of course! There's never a moment where Pitbull isn't looking for the nuts. ;)
I'm still bummed out that Climate Change has been delayed until 2017! I was so hyped to get it for Christmas but now I gotta wait a little bit longer. :\'( I guess, it's fair. A man of class never releases trash and if he needs a little bit more time to put out a quality product then I have no trouble waiting.
The new singles are nothing but class, however. Greenlight is one of the best songs of 2016 and Messin' Around ain't half bad either.

I agree. You see guys like Justin Bieber and Drake walking around with their pants way past their ass but you never see Pitbull in anything but a classy suit and fancy car. The man is pure class, I'm telling you. He is a diamond in today's cultural rough. 8)

Pitbull is honestly... okay. Not a big fan of him, but I wouldn't listen to his songs often.

I can't tell if this thread is serious or not. Either way, it is funny.
I liked the songs Timber, DJ Got Us Falling In Love and Feel This Moment. He's usually the side rapper in the those songs though. I don't think I've heard him after 2013, I might be wrong on that though.

Those are all excellent songs if I ignore the other acts and just pay attention to Pitbull's verses. You should really check out albums like Planet Pit and Dale. He is still making big hits. Greenlight's been a huge success on the charts this year.

I love the spy theme presented in this video. When we walks up to the woman at the receptionist desk and hands her his Armando Bond photo ID credit card (where can I get one of those!?) and is very classy and polite with her, I just think it's very cool. He may seduce a lot of women but he's a good lover who isn't rude or rough at all at all. That's why the ladies love him, he is a classy well-mannered man. He doesn't rely on brawn and stupidity nor does he mistreat the ladies. He is all about class, intelligence, looking good and being a better man.

Right now I've been listening to some older Pitbull along with his peak era (2007-present day).
The Boatlift, as usual, is a superb album and where I feel Pitbull really came into his own and started making quality music. He stopped following the trashy Crunk trends and started doing his own thing which involved being suave and classy. Forget the saggy pants and G-Unit t-shirts, Pitbull is a new man. He is all about suits and fancy wine. There are many songs on this album I enjoy but among have favorites have to be The Anthem, Dukey Love and Sticky Icky. Overall this is a very strong album and what I consider to be Pitbull's true debut. 8.5/10
MIAMI, however, is absolutely awful. I can understand the context of the time, though. Pitbull was still a young man figuring himself out during this stage of the game and we all know rap in 2004 was dominated by bad southern party Crunk and Mr. 305 got a bit wrapped up in that scene. Songs like the lead single Culo are somewhat interesting but overall this album is forgettable and not really worth listening to. 2/10
Pitbull Starring in Rebelution has got to be my favorite Pitbull album of all time! There is nothing weak about this album. This is Pitbull bringing his A-Game and refusing to pull any punches. One thing I really like about the album is that it has a very clever spy theme which pays homages to the old James Bond movies and shows that Pitbull isn't a one-trick pony. Not only does he have smooth rhymes and funky rhythms but he brings an interesting concept to a usually tired genre. Front to back, an incredible album. The singles are strong and the album cuts are equally as good. It was extremely hard to choose favorites because I like every song but the songs I enjoyed the most would have to be Hotel Room Service, Krazy, Girls and Call of the Wild. 10/10

I'm not kidding.
I'd definitely recommend Pitbull Starring in Rebelution as a starting point. It's so good front to back; there are no bad songs on it! After that, I'd go with The Boatlift and Planet Pit to get a feel for some of his other songs. If you like those I'll recommend some more. Avoid anything like Miami and El Mariel unless you like sh!tty Crunk party Rap.

It was. Now look! Kesha is nothing more than a worn out has-been while Pitbull keeps on making big chart-toppers. He went from Mr. 305 to Mr. Worldwide in no time.
What's your guys favorite album? Mine is definitely Pitbull Starring in Rebelution. Close to that would have to be Planet Pit and The Boatlift. The worst Pitbull album is Miami. It's so bad that I don't even consider it real Pitbull.

I'll give some more thoughts on Pitbull's albums to inform you guys on what I think is his best work.
Planet Pit is consistently good. So good that I'd go as far as saying it's his best album right next to Pitbull Starring in Rebelution! The album was made with the intention of every song being good enough to serve as a single and it really shows! Right off the bat we are introduced to phase 2 of Pitbull's peak era: The Mr. Worldwide era (2011-present) which shows that Pitbull's influence has stretched way past Miami and into places even scientists haven't discovered yet. And how! Pitbull is not a one area kinda guy; a man as worldly as himself isn't gonna stick to one region. Songs such as Give Me Everything, Hey Baby, Shake Senorita and Took My Love feature some of the absolute best Pitbull I've heard. The beats are funky and dancable and his rhyming is tight and spot on. Took My Love, especially. That's probably my favorite beat on the whole album. The album doesn't really slow down but a couple of songs such as Give Me Everything, Mr. Right Now and My Kinda Girl seem good for more of an intimate setting if that's the kinda thing you're looking for but overall, you won't be getting much slow dance material from Planet Pit. It's a party album! You gotta play it loud! 9.5/10
Global Warming is more serious and political. The first thing that really hit me when I put the CD in was Pitbull's commentary on the state of rap music today which focuses more on fake posturing rather than being honest and providing good music for the people. "I'm tired of this rap sh!t cause all they do is rap sh!t About coke sh!t, crack sh!t, click clack sh!t But they never sold coke, crack or click clack sh!t That's why I'm laughing to the bank, ha-ha bitch". Unfortunately, the album fails to sustain this mood and gets weaker as it goes on. We're introduced to decent club hits such as Feel This Moment, Party Ain't Over and Have Some Fun which are alright for getting loose and provide a decent listening experience in general. The album's got some weaknesses and as much as I like it, compared to Planet Pit, they're all but too apparent. The funkier beats that songs like Took My Love, Pause and Rain Over Me had on the previous album are just plain missing here. I'm Off That and Have Some Fun are the closest Mr. WW gets to those funky beats but they're just still just not as good. Songs like Outta Nowhere and Feel This Moment are good for slow dancing, I guess, but the focus is lacking here. Probably the worst peak era Pitbull album. Still pretty good but I'd rather listen to Planet Pit. 6.5/10

I'm going to assume this is sincere and not ironic...
I like a good number of Pitbull's hits. He has some really good songs and also some really bad ones. Here's a list.
Pitbull hits I like:
Fun
Time of Our Lives
Fireball
Don't Stop the Party
Back in Time
Dance Again
We Run the Night
International Love
Rain Over Me
DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love
Pitbull hits I don't like:
Booty
Wild Wild Love
Timber
Feel This Moment
Give Me Everything
On the Floor
Hey Baby (Drop It to the Floor)
I Like It
Hotel Room Service
I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)
It's evenly split lol. I haven't listened to his non-hits yet, he's really more of a singles artist, but I'll give him a closer listen. Overall I'm cool with him. Whenever he releases a new song I'm pretty excited to hear the new tune. I really like his accent—which you can hear very clearly when he speaks. He's Cuban. My top two favorite songs from him are "Time of Our Lives" and "Back in Time".

His accent is one of the many things I like about Pitbull. A lot of current rappers today go for the stupid slurred Drake thing but Pitbull keeps it unique and classy. He pays respect to his hometown and I like that kinda thing. I think his singles are a good introduction to the music but I heavily recommend you check out his albums in full. You might like what you find. Pitbull Starring in Rebelution is his best album so I would start with that. It's a party front to back. If you like that one then check out Planet Pit, The Boatlift and Globalization (in that order) to get a better feel for his sound. The only albums I would totally ignore are Miami and El Mariel as they're sh!tty 00's Crunk rap and he didn't get suave and classy until The Boatlift came out.

I'm gonna let you guys know what I think about Pitbull's two new songs.
Greenlight is my new favorite so far. If this is the direction the album is heading in, color me stoked! Once again, Pitbull brings back the funky beats that were such a strong point on Planet Pit; this song really pulls in the listener and gives a good party experience. He is nothing short of classy on this new song and it's good to see he hasn't lost his footing yet. The music video has a Fast and Furious vibe but with comedic overtones in which Pitbull shows us that he is not only a classy guy but a man with a good sense of humor. This song is really good with a nice feel-good vibe. I'm definitely excited for Climate Change's eventually release.
R7xbhKIiw4Y
Messin' Around isn't bad. The beat sounds like something off of Planet Pit had it more slow dance-type songs but with the musical blandness that brought down Global Warming a notch or two. Overall, I feel like the song is too repetitive and doesn't really catch my interest. Am I still excited for Climate Change? Yes, it's a Pitbull album so I know it's still gonna be good but how good, that is the question.

The first song is better IMO. The second one is okay, but isn't anything special. It keeps in line with the trend of remaking songs from the 80's and 90's these days, or at least a line from the song (s). Enrique is cool to me too.
I was surprised the songs weren't horrible. Pitbull is good 'cool' and club music if you're in that type of mood, or into that type of music. I wouldn't expect any deep type of lyrics from him, but then again that's not Pitbull.

Pitbull is party music but he takes something that has a trashy reputation and gives it a classy, suave spin. 8)

Pitbull is scheduling the ultimate fan event, a 4-day cruise called the Pitbull After Dark Party. 8)
https://www.facebook.com/events/1650622215189595/
The cruise runs from March 10th thru the 13th on the Norwegian Pearl, and goes from Miami to Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas.
Pricing runs from $7001 in the primo section :o , to $725 in the bilgewater class.
For more details see www.pitbullcruise.com
Wish I did not have other plans for that week. It would be awesome to party on the high seas with Mister Worldwide. 8). The only problem, of course, is that he'd be getting all the hot chicks and none left for me. :-\\

Jordan, you're still gone and it's been nearly a month. :\'( I'm dedicating this next number to our dearly departed.
Our day breaks, our minds ache
We find that all the words of kindness linger on
When Jordan no longer needs us
He wakes up, he makes up
He takes his time and doesn't feel he has to hurry
He no longer needs us
And in his eyes we see nothing
No sign of lov-- err, friendship, :) behind the tears
Cried for no one
A friendship that should have lasted years
We want him, we need him
And yet we don't believe him when he said our friendship is dead
We think he needs us
And in his eyes we see nothing
No sign of friendship behind the tears
Cried for no one
A friendship that should have lasted years
We stay home, he goes out
He says that long ago he knew someone but now he's gone
He doesn't need us
Our day breaks, our minds ache
There will be time when all the x-treme/early 2000s/Tony Hawk/Pitbull/pop punk things he said will fill our heads
We won't forget him
And in his eyes we see nothing
No sign of friendship behind the tears
Cried for no one
A friendship that should have lasted years...

You thought recommending Britney Spears scared him away? I compared one of the most popular pop-punk bands (Simple Plan) to this song and then went to bed. That's real sugar pop. He was livid! He hasn't been back since.

The closes I have ever come to seeing Pitbull is on "Your Face Sounds Familiar" on Philippine television, with a young boy actor Alonzo Muhlach impersonating him.
