T.I. ft. Got Your Back ft. Keri Hilson compared to the era of hip hop or trap we're in today. It definitely felt like a different era.

Nelly's "Just a Dream" came out in mid-late 2010, but sounds 2000s from head to toe, almost like it could have been released on Country Grammar or at least sometime around 2006 or so. Although Ke$ha's "Die Young" is really the most recent song that clearly sounds like it belongs in a different sub-era than the mid-2010s (it's a solidly early 2010s-style electropop song), "Just a Dream" is the newest song to do well on the charts that feels like it came from a practically different world from today, as Daughtry's "September," though popular around the same time, was from a 2009 album, whereas "Just a Dream" was only first available in mid-2010.

See! Even the song itself knew it would be dated. ;) Gonna be the song I'll play at my 2000s revival party.

Get Lucky may not be dated yet, but a lot of other songs from 3 or 4 years ago sound dated now.

Hopefully in the late 2010s, we'll have some 2000s revival parties.

2014 may still be modern today, but some songs from the first few months are quite dated already.

Any song from 2007 is dated to me. Probably anything after 2009 sounds recent. I will admit music is slightly different now than in the early 10s, but there's no way I can call the early 10s music "dated" though.

It's very difficult to point out just one song that sounds incredibly dated while saying that every song that comes after that sounds current and "in style". Music isn't that cut and dry. Trends bleed together. In the past year, we've seen all early 2010's leftovers completely go away, and the mid 2010s are now standard. Summer of 2015 was the last little period where early 2010s trends were still relevant.
By far, the most recently dated track is "The Night is Still Young" by Nicki Minaj. Even the music video. :o

How about in 1991 or 2001? Also, would you say that the earliest teen pop songs from 1996-1998 were starting to sound dated in 2001?
