Subject: Nicole Scherzinger cast in Dirty Dancing remake for the US broadcaster ABC

Nicole Scherzinger has been recruited for a new remake of cult 80s romantic drama Dirty Dancing for the US broadcaster ABC.
The Hollywood Reporter has said she will star as Penny, played in the 1987 movie by Cynthia Rhodes.
The three-hour TV movie has already cast Little Miss Sunshine star Abigail Breslin in the role of Baby, originally played by Jennifer Grey, while Colt Prattes will step into the dancing shoes of the late Patrick Swayze as Johnny.
For those who haven't seen the film, or can't remember, Penny is Johnny's dance partner and part of the entertainment staff at the Kellerman's resort.
A transmission date has not yet been announced.
