Laura Dern, daughter of actor father Bruce, has joined the cast of Star Wars: Episode VIII, which began principal photography today at Pinewood Studios.
Dern joins Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and "talented newcomer" Kelly Marie Tran in the follow-up to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which is being both written and directed by Rian Johnson, of Brick and Looper fame.
Benicio Del Toro - who was at the Baftas last night with Boyega and other returning cast members Carrie Fisher and Domhnall Gleeson - is also in the cast, in what is rumoured to be a villainous role.
