Subject: Battlestar Galactica - film plans revived
Written By: Philip Eno on 02/11/16 at 10:16 am
Battlestar Galactica is making yet another bid for big screen glory.
The cult 1978 TV series was reinvented in the new millennium to considerable acclaim and ran on the Syfy channel from 2004 to 2009.
At the time, Universal began developing a film with Bryan SInger in the director's chair. But the project stalled and Singer is no longer attached.
Hollywood Reporter claims plans for a big screen version have been revived by 50 Shades of Grey producer Michael De Luca and Bluegrass films, on behalf of Universal.
If the movie goes ahead, it would give the studio a sci-fi rival to Disney's mega-hit Star Wars and Paramount's Star Trek, which releases its third film, Star Trek Beyond, this summer.
