Great question. Oh another hair trend. Putting glitter on roots.

Miss me with that entirely. People dyeing their hair grey and if a REAL grey hair appeared they'd want to jump off the Golden Gate Bridge. I prefer my hair to be a color that commonly occurs in nature for my age bracket. Once I had copper highlights in my hair, I hated it viciously.

What the funk! As Apollonia rightly said, if they found a real grey hair, they'd be mad! (Would love to see the Golden Gate Bridge in reality instead of on pictures, incidentally). Totally daft.

But I approve even less of dyeing hair that has already gone naturally grey because that is just vain. When that happens, one should embrace the grey and thank whoever they believe in that they lived long enough to go grey,

I hang around pinterest because I use it as clothing/hair material for my stories and I remember I was writing for a character with specifically colored hair and I ust searched "hair color trends". While I chose what's called "rose-gold" hair color, I did run up on the grey like this:

(I looked for a darker skinned woman because my character was Half Black/ Half Mexican) I just could never do it. I'm not "edgy" enough. LOL.

I don't see any young people dying their hair gray. I do, on the other hand, see older women embracing graying hair and even finding ways to make it look beautiful.

This is one thing I'll never quite understand. My mother 57 when she passed away, and even at 57 her hair was STILL mostly black, so much so, for years and years her friends accused her of dying it, but I know for a fact she never did. Same with my father, he was well into his 50s before greys appeared. But my mother said if her hair turned grey, she wouldn't dye it and the handful of silver strands she had stood. Same with dad, he used to make fun of his friends trying to dye their hair and it'd turn out purple or blue. LOL.  ;D

As for me, if my real hair turned grey, I don't think I'd notice because I always wear a wig. If Beyonce can do it, Tiffeny can do it. But I'll be damned if I don a grey one!

I have noticed. I think they're going for a silvery look, but I can't read their minds.  ::)

It can look cool with the right outfit. Silver hair with a black outfit can look striking, in my opinion.

Speaking of the 18th century, Mozart white or grey hair was a wig.

Yes, they are all wigs. I'm not sure if it's a rumour, but the reason grey hair wigs were popular in the 17th/18th century is because of syphilis, which causes hair loss. People didn't want others to assume they had syphillis, so they wore those wigs and they became very fashionable even among people without syphilis.

You can still see the hair below the wig.
