Too early to tell, and it's not almost at an end. We're still in the middle of it.

The early 2010's are definitely not dated yet and not even close. I'd say 2010 & maybe 2011 to an extent feel pretty distant now when it comes to the pop cultural movies and the songs that debuted, but if we're talking about the whole early 2010's including 2012 & 2013 then it's definitely not dated yet. Even with 2009 being real distant now even that year doesn't feel dated to me yet. 2007 or the 1st half of 2008 is the furthest period that feels dated to me right now because it was a whole different world in terms of the pop culture, fashion, and the political/world we lived in.

2010 and 2011 are, but 2012 and 2013 don't seem to be. As for the whole early 2010's, it's too early to tell. I would wait another year before discussing this, and even then, change is only obvious in hindsight. As of right now in August 2015, 2012 and 2013 seem pretty similar to today, but in 10 years they may look totally different.

I don't think the early 2010s (except for 2010) is dated in my opinion. We already had people being addicted with using smartphones and tablets, just like that when those devices were getting popular in the early 2010s. Hell, even the entertainment and pop culture are still going from the early 2010s.

Everything past summer 2011 seems very recent. January 2010- May 2010 feels older but I wouldn't say dated. Much of our modern pop culture branches off from late 09-early 10'

I agree with Arctic, 2010 and 2011 DO seem dated. But not 2012 and 2013. NOT EVEN CLOSE!

Well 2010 & 2011 still had a late 00's feel so it does seem different in that regard, but I wouldn't go far enough and say dated. IMO the late 00's don't feel 100% dated either. Maybe 2005 & 2006 to some extent. In my mind the Web 1.0 era (1991-2004 give or take a couple years) would be dated, anything before 1991, aka the analog age, would be retro. I'd give it 5 years for the rest of the 2000's to become dated and maybe the early 10's at that point as well

I hardly give a darn about the vast majority of culture coming out of the mid-2010s, so the early 2010s don't seem dated at all to me. The 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 school years were probably the happiest times of my life so far, and I wish I could return to them and correct everything in my personal life I didn't know back then. I think your happiness during a specific period affects how well it ages for you personally. Coincidence or not, everything pop culturally since my falling out with my high school crush during the transition from high school to college has felt really dull and evolutionarily stagnant. Once things start to look up for me again, I'll probably pass off the mid-2010s as nothing but an expired period that I never want to return to again.
