Born July 13, 1989, Leon Bridges is a Black gospel, soul, and R&B artist with a retro style and sound. He knows how to play guitar, and this gentleman can sing!! He released his debut single earlier this year, "Coming Home".

He released his debut album just a few weeks ago, called Coming Home. It is a throwback to the 1950's soul music, heavily reminiscent of Sam Cooke. I love the song, and I plan on buying the album soon. Retro R&B/Soul has been done prominently in the past few years; namely Adele, Sam Smith, Bruno Mars, and Ella Henderson. However, that was more early '70s-style soul modernized with newer technology. With Leon, however, everything about him is authentic: his music, the old-fashioned equipment he recorded the album with, his instrumental skills, his singing, and his vintage clothing. He signed on to Columbia records to release his debut album, the same record label as Beyoncé, Adele, and Bob Dylan.
