Subject: Gravity case dropped

Author Tess Gerritsen has dropped her legal case against Warner Bros. and New Line over alleged similarities between the 2013 Oscar-winning film Gravity and her 1999 book of the same name.

She confirmed the news in a statement on her blog Monday, citing "brutal emotional and financial costs".

Both the film and the novel feature a female astronaut stranded in space, trying to get home.

A federal judge has now twice dismissed her suit.
