Musically, maybe it could have used another verse instead of looping the chorus, but it's catchy, doesn't abuse autotune (if it uses autotune at all), and repetition makes it earworm-friendly.  I'm OK with that.

I'm neither part of Team Neckbeard nor Team SJW, but it's a fat-acceptance anthem in the way that Born This Way was an orientation-acceptance anthem.  You know what, she's cute, she's fat (but hardly obese), and she owns it -- she gives zero f*bleep*s about it.  I'm okay with that too.  Let's get real; she's not much heavier than blimps like Marilyn Monroe who would never be allowed to get within a light-year of a fashion runway today.  (For the sarcasm-impaired who'd label me part of Team Neckbeard, I don't actually think Marilyn Monroe was fat, I think the herion chic fad of the mid-90s was asinine.  For the humor-impaired who'd label me part of Team SJW, as for Meghan, I'd hit it.  Not that I ever will, but I would.)

Yep, music was so much more pure and chaste back then.  Not that degenerate stuff like those kids are making these days.  The children now love booty; they have bad manners, contempt for the lyrical/broadcast standards codes of the 70s; they show disrespect for elders and love Snapchat in place of email, yadda yadda yadda.

Lest we forget Aerosmith's Big Ten Inch (1975) or ZZ Top Pearl Necklace (1981).  Back then about the most risqué lyrics you'd hear on mainstream broadcast radio were in Benny Bell's Shaving Cream, originally recorded in 1946.

But those sort of songs did not get the mainstream airplay that today's dreck garners.  I think the trend towards today's filth started in the Porn Chic era circa 1975, when songs like Donna Summer's Love to Love You Baby or Andrea True's More! More! More! swamped the airwaves with all that moaning and groaning.  ::)

I kind of like this song. Her voice is slightly grating, but I like how it uses real instrumentation (bass, guitar, piano, sax) and no synthesizers, with possibly the exception of the drum beat. It has kind of a 1960's girl-group groove to it.

My issue is with the video itself. I mean here she is, singing about how proud she is of her curves and her big, sexy booty, yet she's dancing around in this loose-fitting, unflattering dress so we really can't see anything.

I mean, if you're going to sing a song bragging about how sexy your big booty is, then LET US SEE YOUR BOOTY for Pete's sake.  ::)
