American TV network Fox has denied Chris Colfer is leaving the show.
It's understood the 24-year-old, who plays Kurt Hummel, had his Twitter account hacked.
Tweets from the studio said: "We've been alerted that Chris Colfer's Twitter account has been hacked.
"Rumours of his dismissal from Glee could not be further from the truth.
We love Chris and look forward to working with him again this season."
The tweet has been deleted.
Kurt Hummel has been one of the programme's main characters since it started in 2009.
Over five seasons, the role has earnt Chris two Emmy award nominations and a Golden Globe.
The show aired by America television network Fox started out following the students of McKinley High School, who form a Glee club.
In the fourth and fifth series the show focused on both the school and the graduates at performing art college in New York.
The show is shown on Sky1 in the UK and is back on air today after a series break.
